ECU Reprogramming?

Flash, you are obviously fortunate enough to have your own contact for similar services, so I guess won't be needing to take up this offer. For the majority of others, it's a unique oppertunity at a fair rate IMO.

I dont even have a car at the moment after what happened to it... All I was trying to do was make a suggestion to try and bring the cost (s) down for those interested in the mods as this forum after all is about trying to help one another and give our own peronal views/opionions which no doubt not everyone will agree with - I'll keep my opinion (s) to myself now on this thread and wont post anything further on the topic

RSD2: Full credit to you for organising these mods....

Sounds a very good deal to me, £20.

Greg, as i mentioned before i will be there and if it is possible to do the No1 mod, that would be great. Many thanks for your effort in trying to arrange these mods.

£20 per mod is reasonable as it's otherwise difficult for us to get them done. If someone appropriate was offering £20 per car and making a fair buck that's different. Until then per mod is good.

I think for those who are interested best thing is to turn up and see whats possible on each car!

I am interested in Mod 1, but can this be done on my W203 just by software?

70/30 yes dependent on your particular cars ECU. Are you on the list then.

Nope - You will need a new updated Front SAM Unit... Some W203s bulit from mid 2003 build date onwards are eligible but anythin before than is not unfortunately.

thats better for me. i can take a look and see what i thinkwe should have done. might give him a tenner for looking thru the system if i have nothing done after he spends a few mins on it. that way i can check for the multi region unblock. am sure its a seperate item to tv unblocking.

maybe you can listen to my region 1 weird al yankovic's dvd! but to be honest the V8 sound okay to me.

can chirps be set to operate on a w202? i know the MBSS is line of sight operated but as long as you point the fob in roughly the right direction you can arm the alarm without looking as you walk away :)

am i right in thinking that cars equipt with auto lights can have rain sensing wipers activated by this system?

I'm fairly new to MB so forgive my ignorance, but can all of these mods be carried out simply by updating the software?

Yes I'm sure your 2005 car could get most of them just by software settings!

Apparently some late ones can be programmed but most need a different siren fitted which is a £70 part:(

Count me in then :)
