Four advisory Items today on my Merc MOT plus really poor service !!!

Some of the mechanics that I know who run their own business have the worse customer service skills I've ever known, but they can strip an engine with their eyes shut...

I know which I'd rather have working on my car.

Now thats the ironic thing about this situation......The guy that dealt with me in this manner is not the owner of the business. He is just an employee.

Running a business is about providing a good service and making money in return and for that, whoever is facing the customer simply has to be able to communicate with the customer in the correct fashion, and in this day and age where businesses are folding up like tomorrow isn't coming, that extra touch to retain your customer base is more important than ever.

If you don't have an understanding about how to treat your customers, in the long run your business will surely fail.

I took my 450sl and my wifes 02 Hyundai Matrix to CRT Autobodies, Worle, Weston-super-Mare for an mot this week. For my car the tester noted "sill covers fitted ". Presumably this was to cover himself in the event of the sills being rusty .For my wifes car he noted some slight play in one of the bushes. He told us not to worry about replacing the bushes as my wife drives less than 2000 miles a year. He also mentioned to me that i might wish to double check my windscreen washers , which he had to look at last year ! Total for both cars £80 . Would i use CRT Autobodies of Worle , Weston-super-Mare again ? most definitely. I must say that on the day i took the cars in they were not over-busy , and might easily have "looked for work", but did not take the p155. pity there are not more garages around like them.

A bit like Mercedes and rust?

Because you've not produced the voucher at the beginning of the test, and besides the 'finding work' thing, it might be a ball-ache for him to input the sale at a reduced rate after the event.

Joking aside now, what ever the reason there's no need to be rude to a customer who's handing you cash that pays your wages. :)

You got an advisory for the engine, why, shouldn't it have had one?

I meant engine cover, been a long day!

I hate to point out the obvious, but they aren't going to lose any sleep over that.

In the middle of a recession, in a generic business that depends to an extent on return business.
