Frozen Side Windscreens on CLK

Hi Popuptoaster,

Nice fix mate if you are in a bind, but remember that vaseline is petroleum based and will eat your seals if used long term:rolleyes:

cheers didnt know that, but then never kept one more than a couple of years so guess it never showed, haven't needed to use it on my coupe, glad now, i know how much mercedes want for W114 coupe window rubbers and doing both sides would cost more than i paid for the whole car!!!

Thanks Lynall I'll look into that :-)

Rf065... what stops my door from dropping and window rotating is the frost (often thick) so... do you never have the problem where the door can't drop slightly to pass the roof seal?

I have occasions where the windows are frozen solid and cannot move by 1 mm, but I can still open & close the door without any problem, unless it has been wet before the freeze & the windows are frozen to the seals, but that does not happen often.

dont expect minty expensive show cars, i have to buy em tatty and fix em up, the coupe is also my everyday car so progress is slow but i love it so much i cant be taking it off the road to do all at once, makes me feel superior to everyone else in the traffic jam (except for yesterday when i was parked opposite a Mulliner Park Ward 2 door RR silver shadow). :D
