not cherished ones, actual plates. All the sites i can find online are rubbish and very barry. Just want something a little different but not chaved up. Thinking my reg, small subtle border and the EU flag in one corner and the MB star in the other. Maybe the web address for here as a slogan  . (spread the word!) :D

Anyone used any good sites? So far the MB Star has been the issue - it tends to be HUGE  when i just want a subtle one.

ta v much

Yeah definatly www.fancyplates.com I ordered mine 1pm Friday and they was delivered 8.30 Sat morn !! I've had them over 3 years now and they still look like new . Cost me about £30 delivered - here's the style i got Click Me with the Mercedes (a) logo i nthe bottom corner - for some reason it won't put it in when I copy/paste the web addy.

Was thinking along the same lines but not sure of the slogan. Wonder if they would do us a discount if enough were interested.

Think I will order some with the MB CLUB web address :bannana:

Something like this?

I certainly like your plate. Would they be able to use that font as a legal plate. If the answer is yes then I would be interested in two sets, maybe three?

Well done with the design.

John

The plate is legal with the exception of the silver shadowbehind the main lettering

All plates are illegal unless they have the BSI stamp nowadays. However, Unless you take the mickey, it shouldnt be a problem.... afterall, if you drive a car made before the law change, who's to say you didnt buy the plate before the change in law?

I have the same plate and style as above and have had so for 3 years without problem.

not a huge fan of the german ones to be honest.
If they are stamped metal then they are a LOT better quality than the rubbish laminated plastic efforts we have to legally have in the UK.

I'm surprised we've not moved to proper European style plates by now.

more the look of them than the quality. long been a fan of metal plates...clearly more sensible an option. Think it looks a bit silly on a uk car (unless its a concours or something)

I got the German ones after suffering 3 smashed plastic front plates from stones ! Excellent quality and agree they do look a bit strange until you get used to them, but haven't had any trouble.

They are just plain - no Flag / Symbols or anything. From the site that Fuzzer has posted link to above. Some of the letters / numbers in the font that they use can look a bit odd, but fortunately the letters in mine look very clear ! (might still put the UK ones back on for the MOT though !)

What ever you do DONT GO To GREENOAKS (STEALER) for the new ones... :D

Tip: Dont us number plate surround on rear as looks very tacky...

I think it depends on the surround, I have oem surrounds front and rear and they look good.

I defy anyone to find those plate holders tacky.
