Is this the same on the blinking mirrors too?

Malcolm, sorry I think we have our wires crossed here. I dont want to remove the glass, only the cover on the outside. As it shows the mirror needing to be pushed back in the first part to unclip it using a screwdriver, is it slightly different for the W210 blinking mirrors or the same.
I'll have a look later, failing that an MB specialist bodyshop would have to take a look.
On a separate note, how easy is it to convert the plug on the mirrors to fit the W202?
This is a fantastic "How To"......can we please have more like this :bannana:

Will that do for now
Its easier to run extra wires, they can be very thin for the indicators as they are such low current. you could make the wires long enough to pass them out through the kick panel, and go no from there. LED are polarity conscious but bulbs are not, if you join up a LED the wrong way round nothing will happen
So I can use very thin wires available from an electrical suppliers? Or do they have to be specific to automotive use?
You can use any thin multi strand cable a light weight twin pair is fine,
dont use a solid conductor as it will break in time with the opening of the doors.
A double insulated 2 amp cable that is used on table lamps is ideal
Thanks Malcolm, you are a star
Is this type of cable readily available like in B&Q or should I try someone like Maplin?
So effectively I will need to make a loom to pass between the mirror and the car too?
Theres a list with a couple that I found on youtube that I posted in the General section a while back. I think they would make a great thread to go into the how to section. This is a fantastic "How To"......can we please have more like this :bannana:

Thanks Television for posting
Give me a call tomorrow as I have a new one for a customer. I will talk you though it.Right, back to my original question, how do I unhook the mirror from the housing, apparently through reading other bits on other forums, I don't need to release the glass but need to find some sort of retaining clip. Any ideas gentlemen and women?
