Crazy as this might appear, I collect my C250 next week (Wednesday) having never driven one! I have driven the C220 for a couple of days and loved it so I kind of know what I'm in for.. How does the engine perform, any feedback compared to the C220 / C250?

Hi. Not been able to drive it much due to family and work commitments (only done 35 miles). Also this is the 1st diesel and Merc I have ever owned do very difficult to compare right now.

In the short time I have driven it, I have to say it feels much more composed than my old MK5 Gti as well as comfortable but still sporty. The materials are much better than my old car (leather in my old car looked and felt like plastic!). It has similar power although a lot more torque, so once run in it will be interesting to see the difference.

I know it is very early days, but I am glad I went for this car with the spec I had chosen.

Not long for you then....hope the week does not drag much.

It has similar power although a lot more torque, so once run in it will be interesting to see the difference.

Thanks for the reply. Keep me posted when you've had a bit more time. I've read the torque provides quite a kick. If I'm honest, diesel woudn't have been my first choice but the engine does sound pretty awesome considering it's only a 2.1. Im also interested in how the car shifts the 7 gears with such limited rev range..

And yeah, looking forward to collecting the car next week

Oh, and I've gone for the 18" 7 spoke alloys - do like the look of yours though..

No problem. I liked the 7 spokes as well as to me they look slightly larger (even though they are the same size). I kept changing my mind, but the only thing that just swung it was that most c class I saw had the 7 spokes. If I am honest I would have been happy either way.

Let me know how you get on with yours next week.
