Its still in the garage sadly - the gbox oil dipstick went missing at the indie and they cant get one till monday and they wont let it go nor do I want it untill its right (they didnt measure it cos they had a dipstick but when needed it wasnt available or something) in the 10 miles I have done it is smooth on normal driving but if revved / pushed it gets confused 2 / 3rd and thumps into gear. The lack of use this car has had is unbelievable so I am really hoping its a fluid change and a long drive
I have asked for the A service, brake fluid, atf, sparkies, handbrake tighten (awkward job I believe) and the bearings to be adjusted and checked. Once done (and providing I dont need a new gearbox
) its getting a regas of the a/c, tracking check and then I can start bringing it up to (my version of) showroom condition.
The plastic around the rear hardtop mounts has been goughed by weakling roof positioning and if there is a gough on one side then on the other side of the car you have a scratch - its 3 inches long and on the "bodywork" list - Im on the Russki site getting the rear drivers side location trim part number as I type this.
All trim parts that are low cost will be replaced starting with the sunvisor grabs, screw covers etc I am compiling a parts list and so far Inchcape have been great.
Sooo this weekend I am refurbing the hardtop stand which will be re-rubbered and probably bubble wrap trimmed
plus the air deflector and its (mushroom) case are in my possesion and will be cleaned up
I have to admit to feeling a bit anxious over the box but the dealer is 100% sure its not terminal - lets see what monday brings
Meanwhile can anyone id (part number) this hardtop location trim - I cant find it
