2nd time.

1st time was on the Bristol road in Birmingham, Monday morning p!ssing it down. We then turn off to a small road when a Barry in a black XR3 Escort clips my mirror. instant failure as I made contact with another car - I should have foreseen his actions the instructor claimed.

I would have if I could have seen through the crappy 106's wiper blades :(

2nd time for bike and car. Did a stoppie on the 1st bike test during the controlled stop and failed to make progress in the 1st car test.

Just contacted ROSPA about advanced drving lessons.

2nd time.

Failed due to lack of anticipation. To bits got me. First when he said straight on at the next roundabout, rather than take the first exit. By the time I got there and realised what he meant my Mirror and Signals were all a bit late.

Then we were behind a bus when he said take next left. My visibility was reduced so again all a bit rushed. In wiser hindsight I was too close to the bus and should have eased back and probably needed the extra time anyway.

Is is just me, but I look at what I used to regard as overtake opportunities then now, and am genuinely horrified.

Passed 2nd time round!

First was on my sisters birthday, then applied for any cancellations, and it fell on my brothers birthday, neither through choice, creepy! :D

Passed on my 3rd test....................although in my defence, I didn't even get in the car on my 2nd test. The examiner failed the car as it was his opinion that the tyres were under inflated. Which there were. And as it was a driving school car I got free lessons and a free re-test. Still a bummer.

Likewise, there are some spots I still use, but that's becuase I'm in a more powerful car - other I looks and think the other traffic must have been going much slower 25 years ago

It's a bit like the average size of one's hooter.

Where did they get that information from?

Who did the survey and who would be truthful answering that question.

It's not as though it's like your average Hellmanns Mayonaise survey is it.

Or is it?

I remember reading somewhere that, before the 1950's, the average length of a man's penis was one inch longer than it is today. The reason it suddenly got shorter......?

Before the 1950s, men were asked to measure it themselves. Later, medical staff did it.

Men: fibbing about it? Never! :p

Hi,
3rd time for me in a Vauxhall Chevette at 18, 2nd time for my Motor Bike licence at 17

Passed first time in the car in 1991.

Passed second time on the bike in 2001. Failed first test when I went over some mud on a roundabout and the back wheel stepped out. Fair enough. Instructor said I did well to stay on the bike. Maybe so, but I had cycled for 20 years so knew what mud was all about. I've not ridden a bike since. Shame. Now where's that thread about becoming tighter as you get older...... ;)

2nd time.

So, to all of you who passed first time...well done...but I fervently hope you didn't stop learning at that point.

Rant over.

Passing the test gave me the right to drive unaccompanied, it did not mean I stopped learning. In fact I have never stopped learning and never will.

I passed my driving test in 1989.

In 2003 when I looked into obtaining my bike licence I was iformed that I had to sit the hazard perception test - multi-choice questions. I......failed, but passed second time round.

I passed my bike test first time after just 3 days doing the direct access course despite not riding a bike since I was in Goa and having an old Enfield in 1993

. In fact I have never stopped learning and never will.

Well said.

I still think that we should have some form of competance testing at regular intervals. People with your attitude and views are in the distinct minority.

The drivers here are rubbish. You can tell after about 4 corners, those who have been taught and passed on this here island.

never tried following one after the 4th Corner. far too dangerous.

not at all - they all took their test in lerwick - the benchmark for skilled driving!

I agree.:D:D:D
