I've just bought a CL55 AMG, am I mad?

At this rate it'll be Bernard Matthews frozen turkey slices for Christmas.
I'd rather go hungry than eat that!

They didn't need changing as such, but would have been ready come MOT time next July so I thought I'd get it done while it's at the garage.

Just to wrap this thread up, I sold the car yesterday to a very like-minded bloke, and I must say that it was a breathe of fresh air to deal with someone that knows what he wants and doesn't faff about; he wanted the car, came and drove the car, then bought the car, job done!

He's going to have the car as his toy and what better car to have? As we speak he's out driving it to nowhere in particular...

I was very, very impressed with every last thing about the CL and I genuinely couldn't find anything to dislike about it except for the fact I need five seats!

Great thread...nice ending...

I like the way the dealer effectively scrapped the car (£9k repair cost:eek:)...you took it on, brought it up to condition then sold it on to a fellow enthusiast. Just how it should be...

The only downside for me is that I wonder how many of these great cars get scrapped off due to silly dealer repair quotes...

Well done pal...look forward to the next project:thumb:

You are exactly right there!! Far too many will have been because the internet is full of horror stories about them. Wanted a cl for years but still not done it as I always get put off.

I read the stories then took the plunge with a W215 CL500 a few years ago...best car I have ever owned for comfort and driving pleasure...never had any issues in 18months ownership.

I deffo recommend one, they can be bought for silly money now, only advice would be to get it checked out by a local MB indie....you only live once so do it:bannana:

+1. What a great car, a pleasure to drive and the best looking Coupe Mercedes ever made.
