It’s one of the few mid-late noughties AMG models that I’ve never calculated the theoretical top speed for. When I have a chance to look up the data needed to calculate it, I’ll try to remember to do it and post the results.

No under-bonnet picture in that AutoTrader ad.? Would expect at least one showing the supercharger, given that it's what makes the car special :dk:

I also noticed that it has a different exhaust not the quad tail pipes ? Keeps it abit more under the radar 🙂

Those are Kleemann exhaust tips, mine has quad oval Kleemann tips but they’re very similar to the standard AMG set up - I assume they’re just a different size.

But it is limited to186mph 😜
Just uploaded to youtube for you guys 🤗... Notice the RPM 5800k at 186mph

Drag would make a difference?
I've had 160 GPS out of my SLK55 and it was still pulling but it felt abit light on the front end so i let off so i dont doubt the kleemans will hit the 200mph if limiter removed 😀

I sure it could pull 190+ but as you can see the revs at 5800 at 186, so will be the peak of the torque curve, pushing that extra 14mph will take some oommph... All depends on how strong the pull is above 5800, right wind direction and sea level it might just nudge it esp with near 600bhp, You'd have to have some big balls to try it!

Well past the peak of the torque curve, and beyond peak power too (just). I can't see it would reach 200 mph. It might well indicate 200 mph; after all, it indicates 40 mpg cruising at 2000 rpm.

I guess the gearing was never designed for these sorts of speeds. Perhaps a different final drive would help? :thumb:
