Life must be good at Inchcape Mercedes Chester

They will definitely mystery shop their departments and most likely use the results as a gateway to bonus earnings.

This is what happens when you go for the lowest price. Everyone says that they value good service, but few are prepared to pay for it.
Price never entered into the equation at the first half dozen I spoke to. We didn't even get far as a polite and timely response to an enquiry. The price/service comment is irrelevant.

I see no reason to pay full list price just on the chance that I might get adequate service and a free keyring. Not when I'm already going to be splashing multiple £k. We're talking premium car dealers, not Poundland.

I used to live pretty close to Chester MB and would walk to work and regularly push the little ones in the pram looking at new cars....

All I see from the sales guys is them flying round in what ever 'demo' model they have for the day / night. Regularly I see them pull out and give the car full beans from cold.....

I find the parts department very good and guys very 'normal' and helpful, the sales guys however different breed.

As above they really don't seem to care.

It's odd.I've never been fortunate enough to purchase a new car but i have had to make after sales enquiries with 2 franchised dealers from Peugeot and Citroen. Both were exceptional and went out of their way to help- even though i was only spending a few quid-never mind 40k!

The reality is the op is looking to lease a car so is not actuality spending anywhere near 40k more like 10-12k over a couple of years around the same amount as any second hand average car ..

If you want fabulous service go see Mercedes Leicester and speak to Joe the sales guy there. You will never meet anyone more enthusiastic.

When Mrs. Stratman bought her current car, a new bottom of the range Fiat Panda with a £2k scrappage trade in, for a net total of £5k the Fiat dealership could not have been more helpful and friendly. They even phoned her with a choice of registration numbers.

If we're into praising or snitching, I'll speak up for Salisbury MB. On several occasions I've bought tiny little things from them, a fuel filter here, a bulb holder there.. asked if they'd post to me, and next day it's on the door mat, They do know I've been running MBs since '99 so that might have something to do with it.. next sale and all that.

anyway 10/10 for service.

If anyone here is (or in the future might be) interested in buying a Nissan, a big recommendation for Glyn Hopkins in Milton Keynes! Never have I been treated so well by sales staff! Went along yesterday just to look at a car we might trade the Toyota in for and the sales guy was so helpful I was shocked! :D

MB dealers, take note! This is how it should be done!

There are often comments like those in this thread about MB and my experiences of the sales side haven't been great, but MB UK sales are up 18% this year - perhaps they're happy with that?

I would venture that their current sales success might perhaps be down to a policy to "buy" customers with very favourable finance deals. This can be viewed in 2 different ways 1. Its good short term business acumen to take advantage of the very low interest rates prevalent. 2. Its a short term business model "built on sand" which will come crashing down if ever interest rates rise. :dk:

amazing considering there general service...however imagine if they were good? I just wonder what there growth would be like then...

I think the actual reality is the Op is looking for a new car.

Whenever I am about to buy a new or Used Mercedes, I email every single dealership with my precise requirements and budget.

The dealer I buy from will be one of the ones that replies to me even if it means getting a car in from another dealer.

When I last did this, I emailed around fifty dealers on the mainland. Four replied. One within a few minutes. I bought from this one. Early bird catches the worm.

He first posted on 27/ 2 /13 / saying how bad Mercedes dealerships treated him by not taking his money by 13/11/13 9 months later no car ...

I see. What do you suspect, he's really not interested in a new car?

I suspect your a bit gullible . I mean 9 months later with a 40k budget and still no car come on it doesn't take a genus to work it out ..

28 posts since the 13/11, were all these mine...

And since you wrote the above on 16/11 and I replied today, what that has got to do with Op's original post back in March I'm unsure.

Regardless, you comment is neither here nor there as how somebody plans to pay for a new car, the point being it's new car that was required and really doesn't matter if it's for the Op or someone else. Somebody has to pay the 40k directly or indirectly for the car if an aspiring owner wants it.

And I can assure you I wouldn't be gullible enough to accept being treated differently from any other customer simply because I was leasing - been there and done that.
