Location of External Temperature Sensor on W202 C280

Hi Everyone

This is my first post. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

The external temperature does not display correctly ( showing +11.5 when its around freezing ). Its probably either a loose wire or the sensor has gone faulty.

Does anybody know where the sensor is located and what it looks like so I can check that its not loose and if so get a replacement. Also recommendations on where I can get a replacement sensor if required would be greatfully recieved.

Hi, its located just below the front numberplate to the right:

Pull the tow-eye cover bumper trim out towards you and you will have access to the sensor & holder as shown above.

A new sensor can be ordered from your local MB dealers. Part no: MA202 542 03 05 temp display £23.39+vat (price as of 2003)

Just been out and found the sensor on the car in the dark with a torch. It looks to be mounted OK and no loose wires so I'm assuming that its a faulty sensor so I'll get a replacement.
