M113 ML55 Engine Supercharger clutch

For those with the 55k engine when does your supercharger clutch engage? and how is it controlled, I would pressume some kind of magnet but is this controlled by the ECU? The reason I ask is that I have 2 different maps one by West Tuning the other by Eurocharged. The torque curves are very different and I noticed as did others that the West Tuning map had a far more brutal delivery on the road particularly around 2000 rpm. Then it suddenly dawned on me I remember that with the West Tuning map my supercharger would engage at 1300 rpm but the current Eurocharged one seems to be closer to 2000 rpm.
