Magical mystery.... who mapped my car?

I asked MSL. No evidence of car visiting them. They do Eurocharged and Weistec and both have confirmed that my car has not had a file made by either. Options are limited now.

Have you spoken to Rebellion, might have been them

Steve

If it is pulling silly numbers, just tune it down to `stock` figures.....

Or...give the insurers a copy of the dyno readout, and let them decide ?

I went through something similar, having bought a 1 year old C63 and found it flew past the 155mph limiter in Germany (really!). DMS didn't have a record of it, neither did Eurocharged.

Get an ODBII bluetooth dongle for less than a tenner and check how much the throttle opens. If it opens only to 65% it's stock non PP, but delimited as ours was. I think if it's stuck at 75% max, then it's a stock PP map?

I took it to Eurocharged for an LSD (essential imho) and they checked and found it was on a stock map, but had been derestricted to 300kph. Mapping it made a massive difference :)

Do the dogle's work via an iPhone? Just looked on eBay and all I looked at was android or Windows.

Rebellion are booked to see it next weekend (dyno and map) but having spoken to Phil he doesn't recognise the car.

Got a dongle already. Used it in my A45. Good thinking using it to check the throttle on my car. Tomorrow i'll take a look.

On the car front, the V5 came today. Previous owner was a 52 year old woman!! Prior to that it was a Merc demo. Hmm! Not sure if mapped now, unless she was a power freak!

It may have been registered to her , but she my not have been the main driver ...

Cool! Please post your findings :)

There's an "older" woman who drives an r35 round my way, she drives the car as it should be!

This is true. It's an avenue i'm already looking at as she has a 24yr old son. Lives in a bloody huge house!

Mother / family found. Shots fired. Awaiting reply.

Initial test result shows throttle peaks at circa 87.5%. This was only a very short run.

So it must be mapped? Or should it peak at 100?

No. Max should be 75% on stock PPP. It looks mapped. I'll get a longer run down later. Informed insurance company (Churchill). £25 premium increase.

So if the throttles are 75% standard what are they after a eurocharged map?

Be interesting to know because mine is mapped but not a eurocharged map. Wondered if there would be much difference.

Throttle is defo happily above 87% at WOT.

Reason the curve is bouncy is due to traction.
