I am personally loving the look of the new shape Volvo. I prefer them over most new cars!

What’s it drive like?

What’s it drive like?

I've worked on and had loads of Volvo's moslty t5's , This one is V60 Auto and 2.0 Derv, Has all the toys, The drive is nice and smooth, Gearbox as smooth as the wifes CVT Honda which is very very smooth, And in the usual Volvo fashion the Seats are superb! Plenty of Torque from the 2ltr engine and tbf for it is it go's well, Interior feels nice a little plain but no squeaks or rattles controls all within easy reach and i LOVE the quality feel of the Air vents, i couldnt stop playing with them lol.

Thats all the positives,

Controls, are not the easiest to work if im honest but im far from a tech head, I dont like the Big screen when it's off but looks nice when its on, The Dash is abit plain centre console bits and bobs lack a finished feel, The ride is firm/Stiff but the AMG does ride on air so maybe why.

The Tyre noise is quite loud, so is the wind noise. I found it hard to park despite its very good/clear rear reverse camera, Mainly due to the bulky side flanks of the body, lots of blind spots and small windows alround doesn't help one bit.

Finish on the interior door handles feel a little cheap as do the exterior handles but i've found this on most new cars, and the Steering lock hasn't got any better since the old Volvo s60/ph2 v70.

Would i like one? hummm not over a 211 but im abit stuck in the dark ages lol. but hey the fuel tank doesn't like like my Merc's one so thats a Plus!!

Id love to drive a New C to compare it with tbh,

And for the classic Doh that u usually suffer, Mercedes Germany Sent the Wrong fuel tank........ So i'm awaiting further updates.
Just massive thankyou to Andrew at Waterhouse for taking these Superb shots for me.

Although it's quite clean under there, are they going to allow you to scrub under there ? :D

I've got tobe honest the thought had a cured tome but i thought that they may think im some sort of nut job Pmsl, They were obviously surprised to find the plastic floor coverings treated lol. Oh how i could spend a weekend under there :( lol

Ok just a little update, Somewhere along the lines we have ended up with a diesel fuel tank.

Notice the difference

Petrol one out of mine below

The Diesel tank does not have the extra Venting lines left and right, the Petrol ones do.

When you use my vin number WDB2112762A500511 on epc it says N/a under fuel tank.
If you use a normal m113 n/a enginened vin number from a e500 estate of the same year it comes back with:

a2114702402 also using just the vehicle details from a m113k estate its also comes back with a2114702402

Sooooo, i've passed this infomation onto Waterhouse who may or may not relise this as yet as Germany have not got back to them.

Many thanks to fellow members on here who have brought this to my attention i will update things as soon as i know more from Mercedes.

Volvo's gone back, and was followed up by this.....

Tbh i like it lol, it's quieter inside and feels more homely although being a a180 petrol it does feel abit under powered.

What bad luck Gav,looking at the photo's are you sure you never got into the main dealers and scrubbed where the tank sat, lets hope they sort out the part numbers soon.

Positive lol i was surprised how clean it was under there, but it is tucked right up there. Starting to miss the car... :(

You're not inside that box are you armed with fairy duster and cleaning fluid? ;)

Lol no Sir, But i wish i was there to give it a clean, Although its looking like next week before i get it back :( boooooooooo.

Still it does give me time to bond more with the little A180 which i think is a cracking little car.

Had a phone call today, Fuel pump and Fuel sender being swapped over along with new seal's and pipework to the new tank.

Notice the colour change of the Anti overfill valve in the centre compared with the Updated tank.

I really really hope this sorts out the problem, Should know later today or tomorrow.

Still My boy enjoyed his 1st trip out in the Loan car supplied by Waterhouse Mercedes-Benz Authorised workshop Chelmsford :)

Did you just mention to him that your temporary car is just as good for a trip to London?

Well Gav lets hope that the new tank cures the problem, love the photo of your little man he seems a happy soul, given we all know his trips to London are for medical issues,we all hope he gets the treatment he needs.

Felt like i left you guys handing and my apologies, Got the car back today after a very stressful 2 days, There a clip which is part of the Fuel pumps was week.

Everytime they tried to use the original clip it blew off the pump and he car wouldn't run. The Clip only comes with the New fuel Pump assembly Part Number
a2114701794, and a2114705094 together plus a fitting kit, Not sold separately.

They managed to find a used but good clip to sercure the pipework from the filter housing which was partially clogged and the car ran.
They checked for leaks and advised i could do with the Fuel Filter and Fuel pump assembly the above 2 part numbers, Total Cost £1,200 aprox

I basically cant afford it after the cost of the Tank. They Refitted the original parts back into the new tank but the car is now very under powered above 4k rpm, i did purchase the Genuine filter assembly a2114705094

upload_2018-9-14_19-6-19.jpeg

Above Pic for ref:

So im Now going to ask them to fit the above item when funds allow and hope it cures it, If not the i will need a good used pair of pumps if i can find them, Sooooo if anyone has Part number a2114701794 the pump assembly please pm me with a price.

If after i fit the new second hand pair and above new filter it still doesnt work the car will be parked up, Possibly broken for spares or stored until i can sort the complete new assembly.

My 40th Birthday tomorrow and tbh im totally gutted........

Waterhouse have done everything they can to help and more, But It's basically down to me now. :(
