Rubbed the Rocker covers down and painted them, Wasn't ideal leaving them on the car but seeing as they were not leaking i though id leave them in place.

Took the car for a little drive today and Wow oh wow, smooth quiet just as it should be. I used Hammerite Smooth silver on the rocker covers . i've used this on calipers before with great success it should last well but time will tell seems fine at the minute and finishes it off nicely under there.

I can't get how you get so much time to spend on the E55 with your hands as full as they are. Car looks great and well done btw. Note to self....next car buy off Gav!

My weeks disappear fast and weekends even faster. I chip away at the 1000 things on my list but never get enough time to make much a desernable dent.

Currently sitting on my sofa in the garage on the laptop going through copious boxes of work stuff that has accumulated over 2 office moves/closures & a house move to get it all Ebay'd!

Thankyou Sir for the kind comments, Time wise i like a quiet life, having 6 kids it's a dam site quieter in the Garage lol

I have to do these little things because they just simply bug me, and keep bugging me until there sorted.

I know a 100k mile car isn't going tobe like new but at the end of the day its all nuts and bolts so you can get pretty close it if you spend enough time and money, The car simply drives fantastic now, All the engine noise was down to the shot mounts there was Zero movement in the engine at all so was transmitting all through the bulk head coupled with running 5w40 its so quiet, I had to get to the bottom of it which i now have done.

It's certainly tested me, but i got there in the end, The wheels are bugging me now haha although there ok, one has been repaired before and they have all been refurbed at some point but a the lacquer has crazed in places. It also needs 2x new rear tyres so im thinking about buying some new wheels and tyres keeping the standard wheels as spare.

Still i haven't quite decided yet watch this space.

I am glad you took the exhaust route.

I am sure you will be even more annoyed if you took the power steering rack route.

New mounts make such a massive difference.

The only thing that put me off the Dropping the rack was any interference with the steering column , couldn't find any info whether to have the column all the way in or out or whether it made any difference at all. But yes massive difference especially seeing as one of mine was well and truly shot.

Another Shopping trip successfully completed, 500hp "there abouts" people carrier, excessive?? humm.. nah lol

My S55 wouldn’t get anywhere near that, my CL55 (NA) would often say around high 20s on a run but I always found it to be stupidly optimistic.

Good luck with your sons op.

No idea how you are getting that MPG. Never in 5 years of driving have I got within 3mpg of your figure.

As above, best wishes for your son today!

29.8 MPG @ 49MPH ^ I think you've been free wheeling down hills then getting the missus to push you along the flats. :)
Being serious though that's some very good economy, well done.

Best wishes for the wee one, hope he feels better soon.
