The Op went ok, he suffered legions in his bowel which caused a obstruction, But his a little fighter and on the mend, The staff at Gosh are simply amazing.

As above that was another successful 200 mile round trip today, managed to get a quick pick of Silvia at the Brunswick Shopping Centre Under ground carpark before i left.

So did a little more tonight, The Plugs/coils and leads did improve the running but i still had a little uneven idle when 1st cold, no more the 2 minutes or altering by about 50rpm small but its been bugging me, So did a little research and some said Lambda's in particular the front before cat ones sooooo.....

2x new bosch replacements later and she's now runs super smooth, I've only done one cold start which seemed fine but could do another just to make sure, this wont be until Sunday though as thats when im due to go and see my wife and boy at Gosh.

I did take the car up the road and Wow oh wow how smooth it is now is unbelievable, They are serviceable item's think they are rated to about 80k so id definitely advise replacing them if you have a m113 :)

Now i dont know if the colour of them dictates how the engine has been running of late, they are very white which would say a little lean tome, but the burn is lovely and clear no oil contamination at all which is nice to see. Anyway now running super smooth and will be interesting to see how if any MPG's i get more or less. Will keep you all posted.

Btw 22mm spanner from the top to crack them off then got them out from under the car, took about 30mins in total :)

Bosch 0258 006 272

Pleased you young lad has come through ok Gav,that Pagoda in the car park, what a lovely car it is my absolute favourite of that era,I was saying a while ago that because they are so expensive to buy now you hardly see any on the road, looking at the condition of that car it has to be £80 grand,I am not sure I could leave a car like that in a multi story car park .

hour or so at the Park with my 3 other Boys, Managed to get a crafty pic of the car that is lol

Pulling like a absolute train :) Checked the Mpg on a brim to brim 180miles inc 45 mins in London traffic and a brisk drive home  returned 23.1mpg cant grumble at that.

Ironing out the small niggles is very satisfying. Glad all is going well with your little boy, he's a fighter!

Thanks bob yep Idle is alot better now, and performance is restored just needed a good go over.
Jenson is finally off morphine and is eating and drinking so far touch wood his keeping it down. Going up there tomorrow with supplies for the wife, i'm really missing both of them as are his siblings.

Glad he's on on the mend, poor we soul, you really feel for them at that age.

Always annoys me in public places (planes/trains) when a wee one is having a hard time and crying and then some idiot adult goes off on one. Kids don't know how to handle things but adults certainly should.

good looking car mate, hope to see one of them in my driveway soon :) sorting niggly problems always seems to be more satisfying than something big

Done some more today,

I had noticed a small pulsation on the overun when cold mostly going down hill, i had this on Brutus which was cured by replacing the Prop donuts.

Yep the old ones were passed the best, Marked the up so not loose the balance noted which way they old ones came out although they dont tbh look as if it would matter. torqued to 60nms as per haynes manual and also removed the gearbox mount for better access.

Febi replacements went on and all had the same markings, I'd also used these on Brutus and they were spot on.

So a little update,

I wanted to treat myself after recent events, and the car has been running Spot on! Sooooo, i bought some new wheels, 8.5j on the front 9.5j on the Rear. I took ages looking for used and new wheels as it was tough trying to visualise a non Oem wheel, TBH i simply love the look, the car roll's super smooth i also had a small vib at 58mph due to a cracked front wheel which had been welded before. Hence i wanted some new ones.

Anyway cue the back lash lol

Me first.....

Nice and interesting wheel design, but dark and versus the loverly silver (clean n shiny) originals, I would have not made the change
But you're not me (and I would have blackened the tyres as well......;))

Superb car though and a great thread.

Keep theu updates and progress coming.......

Edit

Well Gav they are very nice wheels but I am a old stick in the mud I liked the wheels you had on the car, having said that,I have looked at the car a few times since you posted the pictures and I suppose it is now 50/50,I can see what you hoped to achieve and it does make the car more aggressive, not sure that is the right word either,at the end it is your car and what floats your boat is all that counts.

Me to.

I like the wheels but they’re to dark for me because of the silver bodywork, it makes them a little lost.

I think you would change your mind if you saw them in the flesh, The bronze really does make them stand out, but i do understand what you are saying.

Thanks for the comments peeps, the Original although looking fine in the pictures are crazed and needed a refurb, i wasn't going to do this as the front one had been welded after a crack, and i'm not a fan of that particular design of Oe wheel, also meant a purchase of a new front wheel cant see the point in refurbing a Damaged wheel.

I did think of them done in anthracite like the s211 e55 currently for sale but with a polished lip as above to much dark does indeed make them look lost.

I'm over the moon with tbh but i do appreciate the comments :)

Thinking about doing something with the steering wheel but unsure, would like a alcantara finish or similar but whether i do get around to doing something like that time will tell.

My Bad Fabes, i was limited on time what with the evenings drawing in quickly so unable to get those tyre's blackened in time.
