Well we have a Update,
Non of the Universal boots i was happy with, And seeing as i had the Oe number of the boot and i could get one, i went down this route.
Again Massive thankyou go's out to Mercedes Benz Waterhouse Chelmsford who fitted the boot to the Shaft, Its not a 5 min job as the Cv joint as tobe marked and disassembled, Boot slid on and Re assembled aligning all the marks failure to do so may cause the shaft to go out of balance.
The Joint is abit of a silly desing in my opinion its made in two halves, with the Back housing crimped into place.
You have to break the seal and uncrimp it again making sure its resealed.
Anyway here's a few pic's
Old unit finally out
These are not Circliped or knock off joints. Doh.
For the reassemble i bought 1x New Hub nut, 2x new Caliper Bolts along obviously with the new boot grease and ties.
Shaft now in place ready tobe fitted into the hub, The Shaft went back into the diff no problem, id wire brushed up the other end so it also slid back into the hub nicely. Oh And Yes Pat Mb fitted a New Abs pick up ring to
I Torqued the Centre Hub nut upto Manufacturer's spec thanks again Pat and marked it with some paint just so i can keep i eye on it, then knocked a couple of tabs to secure it.
The car is all built back up, And drives 100%, id actually forgot how smooth and powerful it was after what seems weeks of driving the Wifes Honda
Hopefully that will be last time i have to touch it again for some times, Suffering with manflu and i don't really enjoy tinkering much these days, Just cant believe how thin on the ground Decent mechanic's are, most are just fitters these days and only want simple jobs todo.
Mercedes Benz Waterhouse Chelmsford are superb its well worth knowing a good specialist when running these old cars.
