Michael_Schumacher crashes!

On Monday, the team lead by chief clinicial Emmanuel Gay had begun slowly to reduce Schumacher's sedation and conduct a series of neurological tests, according to French newspaper L'Equipe. The former racing driver had reportedly "responded positively" to the tests. The process of reducing sedation can take days or even weeks, depending on the strength of medication used. To what an extent Schumacher can fully recover from his injuries depends unclear. Michael Schumacher being brought out of induced coma, says manager | Sport | theguardian.com

Not looking too good;Schumacher has been in a medically-induced coma for over two months following a skiing accident in Meribel shortly before New Year, with doctors at his hospital in Grenoble having started to awaken him in recent weeks by slowly reducing the levels of his medication.
The latest official statement from his manager, Sabine Kehm, was that, "Michael is still in a wake up phase, the situation has not altered."
But a report in the Daily Telegraph, citing a senior German journalist who has been covering Schumacher's accident, claims that the situation is far bleaker than doctors have reported - and that the driver's family have been told to brace themselves for the worst.
"The family has been told that only a miracle can bring him back now," the journalist said.
"He is in a bad way but until the family issues a formal statement, we cannot publish anything."
A second source confirmed the story: "Doctors have given it to them straight. Miracles sometimes happen but there is little hope that he will come out of this."
Brain injury experts have long cautioned against hoping for a recovery from the start and throughout, with many warning that the 45-year-old faces a very difficult struggle even if he does emerge from the coma.
Other experts have explained that they fear the worst due to the longevity of the coma, since patients are generally kept in artificial comas for three to four weeks. Dr Tipu Aziz of Oxford University said last week that, "The fact that he hasn't woken up implies that the injury has been extremely severe and that a full recovery is improbable… If you don't start getting any positive signs, that becomes very worrisome.

And what did Sabine Kehm reiterate for about the 65th time on Thursday?

Any medical information published which is not confirmed by the team of doctors treating Michael or his management has to be considered as not valid.
The press are sadistic vultures and they would like nothing more than for him to pass away in a quiet week do they can peddle their crap to the sheep!

Speculation for the masses or not,MS is not in a good way,he may well need
that miracle,I for one wish that for him.

"The public have a right to know" and we have the right to lie, distort and corrupt.

"Tell me Mrs Jones, you have just seen your husband decapitated, your daughter sold into sexual slavery and your infant child smothered, how do you feel?"

Any body who has sat through as many trials as I have and then read the press version of what happened would know that distortion to suit their owners agenda is their bible. Lower than vermin whilst claiming the moral high ground.

Leave MS alone, not in this world!

I thought this was a car forum, not a venue to rant. Leave this for the pub or wherever you go, not here. It's offensive.

What's offensive exactly?

The ridiculous "decapitation " and "sold into slavery " example. It's just not necessary. What IS this doing on a car forum anyway?

I really think you need to read it in the context of the discussion. As a major force in Formula 1 Michael Schumacher's accident was always going to be discussed on a car forum.

Threads evolve and develop, some of the Press have behaved in an appalling manner since he was first admitted to hospital.

But it is Sunday gents and it is sunny, therefore let us agree to disagree?:thumb:

Are you a journo by any chance, or work in the media?

pipmk said he/she has seen first hand many times over the way in which the press distort the facts and generally behave badly so maybe their opinion is a little more valid than some ... even if it seems extreme on a forum like this!

That said is it extreme in comparison with some of the crap the press get up to like hacking dead girl's phones or chasing a deceased actor's daughter who has psychological issues, entrapping her and driving her to suicide ... all to sell a few copies of their rag! Just saying!

You are a new member, if you stick around you will find we often have strong opinions in the general discussion forum. If it offends you then don't read it.
