The inserts are silver, I once had some original AMG pictures that showed the inserts to be either polished or silver and they really looked great as the centre looks too dark otherwise.

Im not 100% convinced that I like the inserts yet, will have to see how they look on the car!

Im afraid not, they are not the same wheels and the standard Mercedes centres dont fit... the centre cap is much smaller.

Both Arches now welded including the holes in the inner arches.

Preperation of the shell and first coat of primer should be next week...

Sorry there will be a break until next week now as the bodyshop have reminded me that I am not their only customer!

They have the cab of an old ford truck to finish and they need a few days on that... Probably visible in one of my pics..

Turns out they did get something done end of last week! Maybe they just didnt want me annoying them every morning...

They have gone around and sorted the dents and they have almost finished smoothing the rear wheel arches... Hoping to be in primer very soon.

The early AMG/OZ Aero's ( 1,2,3 piece ) used a blank 73MM snap in plastic center cap ( OZ part number M242 ) at least until 1991.
This was typical on pre-merger AMG builds with no association to MB.
The later wheels accepted the standard MB 75MM center cap.

Who did the refurb for you? I've got a set of 17" AMGII that need doing, I'm quite local to you and they seem to have done a nice job on yours.
