it was A1 wheels in Wolverhampton... If you go there, dont judge the book by its cover, tell them Jay from Mercland recommended you and speak to Roy the older guy, not his son(s).

Almost ready for first coat of primer...

Rear windows now removed and there was a little surface rust around the lip, previous paintwork has not been done properly as the original factory sealant was still there and the paint line was clear...

Once they have done your paintjobs, do you find the rust then stops?

Have you spotted something not done properly?

All the bits of rust have been cut well beyond the rusty buts so yes it should stop.

Also Brand New wings, Brand New Tailgate and the rest was minor.

Im pretty thorough with waxoyl every 2 years so that keeps rust at bay...

Not at all, but as you said there is rust on the rear window C pillar, how have they dealt with that.
I'm concious of surface corrosion on my own car and want to kill it off rather than it keep reappearing.

I was thinking more about the cars you have already had done a while.

That bit is mostly surface rust due to water being trapped behind the trim so it will be ground back and then treated...
However in general its always best to cut out rust and replace with fresh steel... and protect it properly...

Your car looked great last time I saw it and you had just protected it with wax...

So a few coats of primer which has been sanded down for a perfect smooth surface.

Next it will be
- dissasembly of final bits of trim
- paint inside of new front wings
- fit new wings to car
- Prep car for paint
- Paint car
- Paint all ancillary items such as skirts side cladding and the new tailgate too.
- Assembly...

Few days to go...

Work looks to have done to a high standard, can't wait to see the finished result:thumb:

That's looking very tidy indeed. All this spray work makes me wonder how mine will look when done.

This is looking great and it's coming along very fast. I've got to get mine done now.

She's looking great, Jay :thumb:

Are you keeping that aftermarket exhaust, or sourcing an correct AMG item?
After the bodywork, what's next?

Darren

Oh there is loads to do yet..

Off the top of my head and in no particular order:

- Window Tints
- Exhaust, AMG style (twin square ends) as ill never find AMG exhausts for a TE.
- Recaro Classic C Front Seats (in progress)
- Full Rear suspension overhaul as its making an odd noise from somewhere in that area.
- Rear Differntial Overhaul.
- 7 Seat Conversion
- Various minor bits n pieces.
- Becker Sat Nav Stereo
- Proper Steering Wheel
