Well, it's been a long thread to read, and I have read it a couple of times.
Nav seems to have presented a clear and well considered description of the problems he has encountered, certainly not a rant, and I for one feel bad for him. It's obvious he takes great pride, time and money in taking care of his cars, and one of them is 'wounded', so there is no wonder he isn't happy.
There are always two sides to every story, but as my parents always said 'actions speak louder than words' and given Ian's offer to replace the ECU, Nav's response seems very measured and fair, and hopefully will end up sorting out the problem and cost Ian a lot less than the dealer price for a new ECU.
I have seen my fair share of rants and public arguments over on
www.mazdarotaryclub.com , they never do much good and it was nice to see a clear explanation of a grievance rather than someone throwing stones.
Nav, I hope you get your car sorted soon, I know how I would feel in the same situation, and it would gnaw at me until I got it right again.
Ian, sometimes you have to take the good with the bad, I respect you for not wanting to debate this in public, and commend your latest attempt to resolve the dispute. I am sure your actions with other people's cars will speak louder than words, and I hope you prosper and learn from all of this.
