My2013 c coupe sports plus modifications

glad to see you've managed to get the carlsson lip ordered mate, look forward to seeing it fitted on your car!

Black badge, if the text was a bit thicker I guess it would be ok, if it doesn't fit right then don't bother with it stick to the standard part

hey nab cheers - was still debating to get the extra centre bit we talked about but i think with the amount of speed bumps here it will actually last 24 hours!

did you go for the centre portion? and is so has it caused you problems road wise?

I've got it yeah, couldn't have it without!! I think if you're running standard ride height for the car then can't see it being an issue with bumps etc at all but lowered further then yeah will be a problem, I slow right down for speed bumps/traffic calming areas much to the annoyance of most around me but then I value my car and its suspension!

Don't struggle so much as I thought I might but still have to be careful, even more so now with the new rear diffuser because it hangs a bit lower than the fins on the previous one I had installed.. will be worse when I revert back to winter 18s :(

In that case i may risk it for a chocolate biscuit! - the sports plus sits pretty nice already - not to high and not to low - just right! i did put money side for the centre rs portion as well but managed to get talked out of it - did you go for the carbon fibre centre portion or the fibre glass?

the centre bit is either plastic or carbon, I went for the plastic version because it was under a third of the price of the carbon one but could probably make one if I wanted one that badly

yeah the carbon centre portion was £1000+ and even the guy at carlson thought would be better to opt for the other option - cheers for info!look forward to doing it - also gona risk the warranty and get the calipers painted - i still really want it done:bannana:

No problem! Look forward to seeing the pictures when it is done . The only thing I'd suggest is to check your calipers anyway to see if they have been painted already.

Calipers on the GL went rusty.. kinda because it's a merc thing to do but they got replaced under warranty with new ones that were now painted. One of the things that was a set back was that the calipers were picked from a parts depot/warehouse using part numbers and the front set came through silver, the rears a light gold colour. Obviously that wasn't good enough so said they had to all be the same colour which meant someone going along and opening boxes to make sure they were all the same colour before having them sent up to the dealer and being fitted.

Though I'd suggested just re painting the calipers to one of the colours that were sent through my service manager suggested not to do that as it would invalidate the warranty on them - I imagine that extends to bolts/fixing etc so the element of risk is up to you but if they've warned you about it then there's nothing else they can do, different dealers may be different about it. My dealer aren't too fussed with the stuff I've done to my E-cab - they quite like it so happy days.

yeah this is the dilemma - i think what i do is leave the calipers last - so will see how it sits with the rs front lip - centre portion and see from there - the black alloys look good on it already but reckon the red contrast from calipers would look hot but il see the finished product post pics and then put it to a vote.

hey matey - which seller did you get that from - looks a bit different from mine the lettering seems a bit smaller - looks better black on black bonnet but hard to see the fit - if the fit you feel is poor and sounds like your like me it will contantly niggle you - get rid and and put it down to a first trail and get one your happy with

When mine arrive if im not happy i will get rid too

The carlson rs lip is directly from carlson uk the details are all on there site

Hi mate the diameter of the badge is fine it's just not quite as tight to the bonnet as the OEM badge. Eg you can wobble the badge very slightly but this is enough to niggle me. To be honest you can't really notice the diff in colour between badges, only in certain lights so might revert back to OEM either way.

The Carlsson lip sounds promising. My next stop is full tints @execspec in Notts :)

Yep, reverted bak to OE badge tonight, not worth the swap mate. If you could post the link for the front reg surround that would be great :)

Likewise Dresho, could you post the link and pic of the front number plate surround please, once you have fitted and are happy!! Cheers!

No problem matey - any luck with lead times on your coupe?this mb ordering of the new ports plus is going mental im glad i got in there early - my dealer said there was problems with supply of parts which is why there is now a build delay - whether or not this is true i dont know - theres more rumours about the c class than prince harrys vegas trip now lol

Cheers mate! Leasing company have said January! I think they are covering themselves though, should be early - mid December unless they are on a determined go slow mission :dk:

Makes it very tricky to know when to give 30 days notice of handing my current toy (on a PCP deal) back  so will be hassling for a much better idea of the date come November!!

I got this in an email from my dealer last week.

Option Freeze Date
: 21.09.2012
Baumuster Freeze Date
: 16.08.2012
Requested Production Date
: 16.10.2012
Expected Delivery Date 2
: 02.11.2012
Expected Delivery Date at Port
: 23.10.2012

I ordered the car on the 16th August.... obviously this is just an "indication" at present as they said they would be more precise once we had a "production number".

A little worried now to be honest!

If you do actually get it on 2 Nov, from a 16 Aug order date, I think that's pretty good! I know it's a big "if" though

Guys; finally managed to take some pics & get them uploaded. Shows the parts I've changed to contrast/ black from the original Diamond White. Not great pics as it's still raining.....

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/members/magoo-albums-c-coupe.html

CKS grill on order then probably the AMG style cover for the Command control, bonnet, rear badge & centre caps then some (small) V6 signs for the wings...
