Booked car in next week to get the carbon wraps done on the spoiler and wing mirrors... The end is in site now if I am happy with all the stuff that comes... Or should I say until the doc finds more nice mods to spend money on!!!

lol i really hope im coming to the end to as im weary lol - think the carlson kit - internal trim wrap ala dr nab- the tyre valve caps - tax disc holder and a well deserve full detailing clean and im done!

here guys as you know matty and i current have the hard richbrook holders that look nice on the inside window but looking on the front just look like a circle with bolts in - ok but not made the doc happy so today another arrived - the first pic is the front(the bit you can see through the window) and the second pic is the back - £3 and the quality and finish is very good - adheres direct to the window - will fit and post pics later tomorrow as of out if interested will pm the link for those wanting - cheap and cheerful

Can you pm me the link please?

Cheers doc that is much appreciated, I'll get on to them and see what they come up with I definately want the wing mirrors doing Carbon fiber and I am also toying with the idea of the rear boot spoiler been done too, like on the external carbon pack on the 63 but not sure if it will look a bit in your face and stand out too much against the polar white. Think I'll decide that when I take it in... Thanks again for the link, Matty.

I think it'll look great - and I see you've decided to go ahead anyway; good news indeed. The similar work I did was in Obsidian black, but from the pics you only see these bits as 'dark'. Hopefully that'll give you an idea of the final look, even without the elusive 'Configurator'!

hey mate yes - tried and failed - ordered and it came much bigger the area it was supposed to cover - did this the same time as the idrive - binned it in the end only cost me a tenner - and got me money back so didnt even post it on here - not sure if same supplier you have used but not same pic as yours -is that yours in the pic? if not let me know how you get on from ordering yours but as we seem to find these all tend to come from the same honk kong factory so if one is dodge the rest are - but defo trial another and if works il put my tenner on another try:thumb:

I got it from the US, the quality is actually better than their pic.
ForMyMercedes.com

Their whole range is here:
ForMyMercedes.com

Some people just stick it on top but I wanted it fully flush - it is a bit tricky to remove the old star as it is very well stuck on.

Guy that runs the site is really good and helpful.

I'd love to have someone say that to me, can spot a wrap a mile off!!

With the quality of their work though I'm sure it will look good, remember to post some pics up when you get it done :)
Hello sir how did the test drive in the 63 go?
I take it you have used the company? Did they do your door inlays that the doc was on about getting on his? The guy I have been speaking to there is really helpful he has said by far the textured carbon looks the best but doesn't advise it on the wing mirror as once it gets dead flys, snd much in it it is really hard to remove. I presume your mirror ate the genuine thing? Are they textured or smooth?
To wrap or not to wrap that is the question. Just seen magoo pictures that he has kindly posted and it looks the business... What do you think nab? You been the master and all!!!

Cheers mate this is really helpful, thanks so much for that I really appreciate it! Infact I think between us all we could set up our own sports plus configure! I love the look of yours and think I am sold just need to hear about the quality issues on the carbon from nab. Can you tell yours is wrapped or does it look like an original part sprayed in obsidian?
Thanks again
Matty

Nice and suttle doc good find. I like but am going to stick with the metal one as I have gone for plain number plate holders so don't really need it to all flow through.

The I drive boot arrived today haven't posted pic as its the same as yours. It's on and fitted, if only all our mods were that cheap and easy to fit!!! A nice little touch I think! Thanks for the info of seller can't grumble at the quality. Fingers crossed for the bonnet badge now....

The test drive went well thanks! Just hammering out a potential deal and potential cars, I'm in no rush to change anyway so not going to jump at whatever gets offered!

I haven't used the company no but seen their work, I wrapped mine myself - had a set of carbon trims ready to fit but ended up selling them for a lot more than they cost me to have made. My mirrors are OEM carbon ones yeah, considered doing them black and having a black spoiler but I just went crazy and did the carbon thing with real carbon not the cheap fibreglass-carbon rubbish that is knocking about everywhere.. they are very smooth and very glossy, nice depth and texture to the carbon weave :D

For me I wouldn't wrap mirrors and spoilers I'd prefer them painted or to be proper carbon but just preference, wrapping may cheapen the look on the exterior but on the interior its a no brainer.

Hmmm cheers nab appreciate your comments and input as usual. If I do decide to do it it's only going to cost me 200 quid so if I don't like it I presume I can just pull the wrap off... Well maybe not that easy but it's not permanent is what I am saying. When I go next week I'll look at the quality of the wrap print and make a decision there and then. The guy seemed really helpful and if it's not for me then I'm sure he will understand.
I'll post the pics on the big reveal, ie once I have got the grill, amg door pins, bonnet badge and wraps done or not done!
Cheers again and glad to hear the test drive went well. I wanted the 63 but it was too impractical for the mrs and she didn't like the test drive she said it was far too fast for her. To be fair she says that about my supercharged range rover so the 63 had no chance of getting on the driveway... Well maybe not for a few years at least... Slowly slowly catch the monkey... Er i mean wifey and all that!

These parts were sprayed, so no look-a-likey worries.

Cheers magoo I think I am going to go for the wrap unless when I get there it really does look cheap... If I think it looks on then I will go for it snd like I said to Dr Nab if it looks pants it can be taken off with no harm been done, then I'll spray them black like yours!

Mine should be imminent then if yours has arrived... How do they fit doc? Is it straight forward? I think you might be looking to get the pictures uploaded for Christmas if your waiting for this wretched rain to stop... I think it's my fault though as I cleaned both cars yesterday... Every time!! I think it must be a rain dance I do!!! Lol

Mine has arrived too it looks spot on I am really pleased with them. I'm fitting myself as mb York won't do it... Useless as I have previously mentioned. I wouldn't buy a car from mb York ever as the staff knoledge and after sales is shocking... When I said what your dealer had done for you the parts manger simply said take it there then!!!!

Black, single slat front grill finally arrived from CKS today! Looks 'the dugs Baws!' as we say here in stormy Scotland.
