My2013 c coupe sports plus modifications

hi there ro. think you getting muddled mate - the carbon fibre centre caps i have are not amg - they are mercedes - no amg anywhere to be seen?? just mercedes:doh: did enquire why said had made by amg prior but said was erro on the site - my black ones came in merc box all wrapped just like my valve caps did.

if yours havent i would question this and return:

the ones i have i got via cks and had no problems but your mercedes dealer can get them for you also - options are

-black gloss
-full chrome
-carbon fibre

i chose carbon fibre as my alloys are full matte black so putting something shiny in the middle will just make them look like cupcakes lol

if you have silver alloys the chrome ones nab suggested would be better or the gloss black - always read the product prior and look at your car prior to help prevent any errors:thumb:
hey dresho I think cks have ripped me off! the centre caps are definatly not genuine and came just in a bubble wrap with no box! I think to be safe I will order the black ones from mercedes and get them to fit it.

I got the grill also from cks which I was happy with - it'll definatly make my C350 coupe stand out :)

lol that definitely sounds a bit dodge - keep the grill and send back the whell caps your doing the right thing i would do the same and try wrangle a freebie at the same time:thumb:

A question about the car and centre caps in general; does the car come with a tool for popping the centre caps off without the need for some idiot taking to them with a screwdriver when new tyres are fitted etc?

Had similar wheels before and they ended up looking a mess eventually...

no mate they don't - there is a thread on here with a easy way to remove them using the led light bulb suction cups lol

i had mine done at the dealership for free while they fitted the grill

if you haven't received your car yet - i would ask the dealer fi he would have them put on prior to you receiving the car like some buyers have done - this way save you the hassle of using the light bulb remover or taking it back to get it done

cheers mate, yeah am thinking of doing that so it's sorted before i collect it. got the part code (B66470200) on my email ready to go, but was expecting a delay for the delivery (always assume worst case etc) so may ask for these as part of a sweetener...

now your talking lol squeeze until threres nothing left lol:thumb:

You know I don't mean it like that doc! :thumb: there's plenty of the dodgy stuff that isn't good quality that gets passed off as "genuine" because of the way it looks rather than its quality, all the stuff you've got on yours is either genuine or very good quality which makes all the difference!

I bought some bonnet badges which to be fair looked **** so never fitted them, same with the rear emblem but you seem to find decent stuff so remember to post all the links up!!

ps.. still do love the coupe just get that carlsson lip on... sharpish before the temperatures dip and the gritters come out in force - worst thing for having something freshly painted

ps whats this about you getting rid of the e coupe??

Becker will be my first port of call. I can live without the eBay feedback haha :D

ha yeah that £150 deal on ebay is a serious deal! i dont know how merc have the cheek to charge more than 3 times the price for the exact product unopened!

looks like loads of people are getting amazing deals as close to end of september quota - id be wondering around to all the nearest dealers explaining your situ and see if they even give you a better deal!

new bonnet badge

got the new badge on took a quick pic before started raining again - was worried about the fit but after jigging it about it popped in flush

its bloody shiny! even with the flash off the iphone!

Wallaaaaaaaa lol
Hey kid dav, I have fitted the badge tonight and I am pleased... Ish with it, looking down on it it looks fine but when u open the bonnet and look at it straight on it does sit up 1-2mm and make no mistake about it as nice as it is it doesn't fit the same ans as snug and tight as the original blue mb badge.. Can you talk me through how u took the riveted black part away from the badge and riveted back on after sanding down. I have filed the outer black part down the diameter of the original mb black part but its still sitting up... If you have any instructions/ or tips I would be really greatfull...

That badge looks really nice mate!

Yeah was thinking of swapping the E-class in or selling it and getting a C63 coupe.. had a play around with this earlier......

Hi mate. If your badge is like mine then it should be made of 3 parts. The sticky backed badge, the aluminium surround plate and the black plastic backing plate with spring clip. Although the black plastic backing plate comes per attached to the aluminium surround plate by what looks like the 2 pins, it is actually only held on by double sided tape. These 2 parts should prise apart easily if you use something flat like a knife. Once separated I put some sandpaper on a flat surface and just shaved about 2mm by hand. Make sure u rub the badge on the sandpaper against a hard surface to guarantee a flat/even finish. I then got some lock tight super glue and glued the plastic plate back to the aluminium surround. I took this pic before putting it on my car which shows the badge a lot more flush. (Yours as it stands probs has a 2mm gap between black plastic and aluminium surround.

Sounds a bit long winded mate but really only took 5 minutes. I was fed up of ordering badges and been disappointed :/ so made my own haha

Thank you so much kid dav, I thought it was loose for rivets and tried to pop them but I didn't want to bust it.. That explains why now if its double sided 3m tape... Yes you are right it needs about 2mm off then it will sit down tight and flush. Right, info in hand I'm on it!!! Cheers again mate, much appreciated, your a star... Well actually not a star as you took that off, your an AMG badge maker! Lol

That is a thing of sheer beauty nab! My only worry is now you have got the modding bug what would you do with yourself as it is all done for you on the black series!!! Awesome car though, it's a tough choice for you to make between your pride and joy and that bad boy!

hey matt is does that intially but if you get some one to hold the pincers together while you push down the there is a sudden further click and it sits down flush - was like a minor surgical procedure - applied some instillagel gel before (medical lubricant to easy the process and had some plastic gloves on so i wouldnt slip)

had my tools ready to revert to the quality kid dav procedure but luckily the medical take worked!

jesus dr nab that car is epic! - do it ! do it now!lol

That's the mutts nuts. Go get it!!!
