Thank you so much kid dav, I thought it was loose for rivets and tried to pop them but I didn't want to bust it.. That explains why now if its double sided 3m tape... Yes you are right it needs about 2mm off then it will sit down tight and flush. Right, info in hand I'm on it!!! Cheers again mate, much appreciated, your a star... Well actually not a star as you took that off, your an AMG badge maker! Lol

No problem mate. It's worth a try, especially if the badges were just gonna get thrown away like mine. Good luck

yep all ordered - was deciding whether to have it sprayed prior to deliver or after - decided after as got a good deal and te merc bodyshop as they getting used to me hanging around now lol - just waiting for the centre portion to become available now as as you saw with my discussions with nab i was debating if it would be safe - due to all the bloody speed bumps up here - but convinced myself all will be ok lol

did you go illegal tint or road worthy?lol

Cool. So all together is that setting you back about £1200 plus fitting? When I looked the front lip and centre portion were about £600 each!

Something which has made me think is a photo I saw the other day. It was a coupe like ours but it had the 63 rear diffuser insert on the back bumper even though it only had the single exhaust. To be fair it still looked pretty good espec as it was colour coded. I'm tempted by this as the rear diffuser insert isn't too pricey. What's your thoughts?

If you got a 63 diffuser you'd need another exhaust pipe for the other side at the very least unless you customise it and have the exhaust cut out plastic welded and filled then primed and painted but that is a whole lot of effort

On the C63 Black Series, the car is for sale and they were basically saying if I want a C63 coupe just have one of these.. have to see what sort of deal they want to do, imagine there won't be a whole lot of discount on it though! But the noise it makes is an event in itself  then the way it shifts... :bannana: want/need/must have one!

That is a thing of sheer beauty nab! My only worry is now you have got the modding bug what would you do with yourself as it is all done for you on the black series!!! Awesome car though, it's a tough choice for you to make between your pride and joy and that bad boy!

With the current modding bug I've got.... what would I do? VATH/Weistec supercharger conversion to stage 2 + VATH exhaust system, some new 20" deep concave forged wheels with lower offsets to sit perfectly flush and maybe redesign the rear diffuser to be a little more aggressive but retain the original functionality and fitment with the exhaust pipes... yum!

hey matey was a bit mnore - got the invoice at home and will pm you the exact price when get bqack but off head i think was more £1350 or around that..which is cool. i think nab is right about the exhuast part - any work on that area i think needs atleast 2 exhausts+ (not 6 though lol) just to get that right effect you want - ive tried to block doing anything in that area out of my head now as just with the calipers the whole warranty saga ive had with my dealership - bu it think if you do it go the whole hog and get atleast two exhuast (4 if your feeling cheeky!ha)

the rs lip is sorted but still waiting for the centre insert to become available - and ive paid already! - did you check out the silver mesh inserts for where the lower lights are and the bottom grill - they look really good-?what you reckon?its pay day and im feeling frisky lol

Yes I do agree with you and Nab. Would love to have the AMG quad exhaust and diffuser conversion done together but like you don't want to risk warranty issues. Guess ill just have to get the c63 soon as solve my problem haha

I'm looking forward to seeing the Carlsson lip on your car. Hope it arrives soon. Mercedes have emailed me this morning to say my black series spoiler has arrived :D that will hopefully get fitted this wknd.

I'm not sure about the silver mesh inserts, don't think there for me especially now I have the gloss black grille. Think with our cars been obsidian black with the black grille look best black on black stealth ;)

I knew it wouldn't just be changing the reg plate holder... Silly question really when it comes to your mods!!! Sounds like you have already been designing and modding in your head even before the test drive! Bat on nab, love it!

It's done and on a lot more happier with it now, cheers mate, it was just the outer moulding excess plastic on the black part outer edge that was keeping it high up. It is a snug sure fit now though... Pics to follow after the weekend. Thanks again for your help and advice it is much appreciated!

hey matt is does that intially but if you get some one to hold the pincers together while you push down the there is a sudden further click and it sits down flush - was like a minor surgical procedure - applied some instillagel gel before (medical lubricant to easy the process and had some plastic gloves on so i wouldnt slip)

had my tools ready to revert to the quality kid dav procedure but luckily the medical take worked!
Cheers doc all done, I did file a bit off but as well as doing what kid dav said I took your advice too and translated it from surgical lingo to construction lingo... So for your instillagel gel I used builders silicone and for pincers I used bull nosed pliers... I did leave the rubber gloves alone though!!!

haha atleast we are all happy with our shiny new badges!

Pics please gents - especially yours Matty Merc as I'm itching to see the badges on against the white contrast:thumb:
I'm getting the Carbon wrapping done tomorrow magoo plus I also fitted the grill today, it was easy once I had snapped the lug of mark 2 single slat silver (can't eBay the bloody thing now) it has been an expensive lesson... When you know what you want and you can see it in your mind don't listen to the mrs when she says the other colur is nicer... She have have been right but all of us on here want that aggressive, meanness look.... Mission archived with the single slat black! I'll post pics on Sunday (if I can) for the big reveal!

Result. Does the mrs not fancy the Rangie? The 'kilted anti-auto' in our house has the ML most of the time, which leaves me to play all day in the Coupe, ie when I'm on my own.....yippee. :bannana:

It does look smart mate, don't get me wrong. But personally I like the black on black mean stealth look. If anything I have thought about just getting the original inserts sprayed gloss black to match the new CKS grille. Personal preference though isn't mate. Same reason I opted for the black series spoiler in obsidian black even though Nab kindly offered me the more expensive carbon one at a very decent price.

What's your thoughts on the the other rear spoiler that sits above the windscreen at roof level? Bit tacky?

yeah your right i will get it without first and see - i think the one spoiler is enough matey - should look sweet - you still getting the black alloys?

Eventually mate. Gonna leave these wheels on over the winter n then maybe change next summer when I'm ready for something new. However I am going to enquire about new alloys when I get the spoiler fitted Monday so you never know. Other then the font lip and maybe colour coding the rear diffuser I think I'm about there. The plan is to let the missus have mine next year as I want a C63 or a 911.

Look at my pictures I have the AMG diffuser with the exhaust conversion. If you just put the diffuser on with the standard single exhaust it would look off made I will measure the opening cut out on mine and tell you but it is a fair openong around 200mm I think.

There has been talk if swapping mate more on my behalf than hers!!! She says the RR is too big for her to park, I said it parks itself with all the sensors and cameras on it, never mind you can't win them all. I've swapped today as I'm going to get the wrapping done and pick the folks up from the airport via a nice, long, country, quite road de tour!!!! Oh I can hear and smell them brakes already when I stop!!!!
