My2013 c coupe sports plus modifications

Look at my pictures I have the AMG diffuser with the exhaust conversion. If you just put the diffuser on with the standard single exhaust it would look off made I will measure the opening cut out on mine and tell you but it is a fair openong around 200mm I think.

Hi mate, yes it looks sweet. I know exactly what your saying and doubt I would change diffuser without doing the exhaust too. Couple of questions for ya if u dont mind 1) where did you get your exhaust conversion done and how much did it cost including diffuser? 2) has it affected ur warranty? 3) are your alloys standard or upgrades?

1.alloys = standard amg plus alloys

2.exhaust job = done at cks

3.price - leave that to matty sure he told me but didnt retain it

4. Warranty = he has had no probs on his prior range hence went forward on merc but it will be down to your dealer as with tints/calipers all balance of risk

Dresho : Would you be able to tell me if it would be a good decision to get MOT done from mercedes official workshop, though they dont have a ramp and would be getting it done from some one across road. sorry for being off topic though

IMO an MOT is an MOT. I've always chosen where to get my MOT's done based on convenience - the place I use for our cars do it while you wait, and they're open from 8am so you can get on with your day.

Servicing is a different matter, but for MOT I don't think it makes a difference tbh.

the closest to me are kwikfit , but ot hearing good tings about kwikfit in general so hesitant to go there, i have been servicing at the merc official workshop , but i am in 2 minds about MOT

Ah, mine's an independent place, I'd avoid Kwik Fit... Hadn't been there for years, but last time my rear tyres needed replacing they came up cheapest by far, so I got them done there and they tried to convince me I needed to get new rear discs and pads done! Told them I use an Independent BMW Garage and I was in for a service the following week anyway...

Took it to my place, and they confirmed they were pulling a fast one. Bunch of absolute _____!

yes they seem to be telling this to every one about disc and brake pads, thiefs, i am for sure avoiding kwikfit and halfords, the merc guys saying 65 for mot and i will have to travel 10 miles or so, the nearest mot center is just next to my place though, thanks dan for your inputs

We got our old c180k mot'd at Greenoaks in Ascot for £35. Cheaper than our local garages and nicer to deal with.
Been ripped off in the past by the local garages for things like struts and brakes so can't go far wrong with a main dealer. Unless its really in need of a lot of work then it's big bills

That badge looks really nice mate!

Yeah was thinking of swapping the E-class in or selling it and getting a C63 coupe.. had a play around with this earlier......

All good mate! agree with dan with MOT go with someone you trust with a good rep and shop around - got a good relationship though with my dealership at present so may go with them but will decide at the time - still upset me they wont let me paint m calipers or do the exhaust lol but tbf they are acting in my best interest

I think the doc answered your questions apart from the price which was £895+the dreaded... As for warranty it's is really a risk but after taking advise from several sources including a good family friend who used to be a cheif mechanic at Mercedes for many years before he retired. He said if you ask they will say it affects the warranty because... 1 you are going somewhere else and not putting money in their pocket ( but when I asked merc I was given a rough figure of £3kplus) also cks do specialise in MB and do do work for them direct... 2... They are saying it to cover them selfs but if it actually came down to it and there was a problem I would want a bloody good reason why through a solicitor... It's not effecting the cat or any major part of the exhaust. Lastly I know from experience with the Audi and the range rover which were both bought from new, every time I had a problem it was never covered under warranty.... Surprise surprise! Hope that is of some help to you... Maybe ask nab how he has gone on with warranty if you are still unsure...

hey matey! did merc offer to do it for you? they flat told me NO because of the warranty stuff just like the calipers but said can get it elsewhere at own risk as you stated - but 3k - wow!lol - my heart tells me yes but my head tells me no - tbf i will prob give in at some stage

Well a day of two half's...On the down side... Took the car to get the mirrors and spoiler wrapped today and it hasn't been done. The mirrors can't be wrapped in Carbon as their is a groove that is too deep and narrow for the wrap to adhere to so it will fail. That's only in carbon though as it is double thickness due to the laminating process so I could get it done in gloss black... So there was no point in doing the spoiler until I decide.. It is booked in week after next as they have to be stripped down and it's going to take 5 hours.. But since I have come away I'm thinking spray instead of wrap??? So I have four options. 1 leave them alone and as they are. 2. Get the carbon spoiler and mirrors from CKS. 3. Wrap them in gloss black. 4. Get them sprayed... Choices choices!!!
On the up side.. I had 2 hours to kill so took the car out into the country, put it into sport and turned the traction control off... A good afternoon was had! Not the fastest car I have had but over all a good set up and drive!!!

Nab you we're right about carbon wrapping external parts, the owner showed me his bm and his mirrors in carbon wrap... Not nice at all, very fake!!!

Sorry doc forgot to quote your post but in reply to your question it was through my lease hire guy direct from merc basically to do the c63 exhaust, I don't even know if they would of done it as soon as they said £3k+ and I knew what CKS were charging I didn't take it any further. 3k can go toward the warranty repairs!! Lol

Never had a single problem with my warranty and had a few little things done here and there - my car is far from standard but then I have a great relationship with my dealer so never likely to be a problem.

you so lucky i cant say my dealership haven't been great as they have done loads free for me i guess they may have had some prior experiences with some customers and wanted me to make an informed decision as its not the dealership that oes the warranty decision in the end its the all seeing MB they just act of what told from them on review of the case.
