New Car Order - Must be Mad

mw c32, thats very interesting that freedom get there c63 from exeter merc because I am dealing with Truro merc .

truro, plymouth and exeter mercedes are all part of mercedes south west so maybe I will mention this to truro to see if they can can match freedom contract hire price.

I phoned Truro merc today to see if they could match freedom quotes on contract hire and have not heard back yet.

I suppose they very busy as is 1st March and the new 12 plate.

Since we took delivery of our C220 in Fire Opal last August. I've started seeing an increasing number of MB's in red. Not only C Class.

This week I've seen a new E cabriolet and a new CLS in red. They both looked quite good actualy which was a surprise as some of the larger models don't suit that colour.

Truro merc contacted me today and I must say they have been very helpful and the salesman Dan I am dealing with knows his stuff.

He said they cand do a c63 amg estate for £601 including vat over two years which is £18 more than freedom contracts .

He also said they now cant get a factory car until September and can only guarantee these prices for six months .

He has looked on mercedes new car system and there are only five c63 estates that have already been ordered by dealers but are still spec amendable, so he is going to see if the dealers who have these cars ordered will let him have one or swap one for a merc he has in stock or order.

I would then get this car in May/June at the price he quoted. Things are never simple.

I'd call his bluff!!! and go with freedom unless he can match the price....either that or pay the extra £432 for an earlier delivery. I'ts not much is it!!!

Either way your inching closer to the deal. :thumb:

Yes am getting a bit nrevous as never spent this much on a car before and also fuel but you only live once.

He will phone me tomorrow from merc with how he has got on about securing a car. I cleaned a fire opal merc c350 the other day and is a lovely colour so you will be pleased.

I was thinking obsisian black with sand leather, black ash wood, 19" wheels(not black), reverse camera and rear privacy glass.

Enjoy your car when it arrives .

Not sure how much you like your music but I would seriously consider the HK sound and DAB radio as well.

Interesting that they can do the deal they have quoted you as the offer deal expired for cars registered after 1st July. They must know that it is going to be extended or amended then!

"we have just become Grand Parents so we have chosen a more practical car to get around in."

What a great line :-)

Reminds me of a mate of mine

Him; "I had to get rid of the 911 and get something more sensible now I have started a family. It's all a bit of a compromise."
Me; "Is that your Cayenne Turbo in the car park?"
Him; "Yes."
Me; "As compromises go, that's one of the better ones".

Makes perfect sense to me. You should see the envy in my children's eyes....
I keep telling them to work harder and by the time their 39 maybe they can afford one too. Why do they look at me like I'm a tw@t?

.

Nice one, enjoy :)

Good timing on the order as well if my dealer is to believed, per my note on my thread about my incoming C63. Run out of engines...

Firstly, and as this is my first post, a big hello from me :)

I'll save the long-winded introduction for another time, but in brief I'm here as I'm looking at getting into a c63. I've historically been a BMW man, however there's just something about the c63 that really appeals. And with the way fuel prices / Europrats in Brussels are going, it may well be the start of the end of the big-engined, proper sounding motor vehicle :(

Anyway, I'm quite taken with some of the fantastic lease deals available. This type of ownership suits me down to the ground, so it would seem somewhat churlish to pass up such an opportunity.

@ v2cjb
Would it be possible for you to share a little more info on your deal with Truro MB? PM is fine (not sure if I can PM as a newbie?) if it's easier for you.

Cheers,
ghibbett

^ ghibbett, welcome to the forum and good luck in searching for your car.

I had a test drive in the m3 and whilst it is a cracking car I just didn't get the sense of occasion as I do with the C63 so I can understand the interest here.

I am having to force myself into delayed gratification as mine is sitting at the dealer waiting to be delivered.....

Still good for the soul so they tell me!!!

@mw_C32

Many thanks for the welcome :D

I have not driven a new (E9x) M3, nor a C63, so it's a bit of a leap of faith until I can get a test drive. I'm currently abroad and not back in the UK until April, however I've already opened dialogue with an MB dealer , so let's see what that brings.

When did you order your C63 and when do you expect to collect? Actually I think the waiting is part of the fun, although maybe I'm just weird

Cheers,

mw c32 I bet you are getting excited but at least it is something to look forward to.

I think you have done well with your deal because by the sounds of it the waiting list for these cars is getting longer.

ghibbett, the deal at Truro is for a new c63 amg estate in standard spec.

They have quoted me £501.67 plus vat with a
£1505.01 deposit which is a 3+23 contract hire package.

The only problem they have is that they cant get me a factory order car to my spec until Sept/oct and they cant hold the contract hire rates for that long as it is over six months from today.

They have found a dealer up country who has an estate amg on order to arrive in June and the spec can still be changed to my spec and truro have to swap a car for the amg. There are more saloons available so not sure if the wait is as long but I need an estate as got three kids.

Exeter, Plymouth and Truro are all part of the same group (Mecedes Benz South West).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ordered the car end of January and it's ready and waiting at the dealer!!! Have just arranged delivery to me on 2nd April. As I type I am trying to convince myself to get it sooner.....must hold on!!!:wallbash:

That's not bad. Mine is £457.49 + vat with £2744.94 + vat deposit. 6x23 for saloon....;)

So when do you start paying from? Surely the dealer wont be happy if the payments begin when you collect if its been sitting ready and registered for a month?!

Usually it won't be registered until it's ready to go out which would be end of March to get it in the monthly figures. They won't get paid until after it's been delivered, depending on the dealer. Some want paying upfront and it can cause real proplems as most lease companies won't. Usally happens when it's a small dealer which is the customers choice in the first place! 7 to 14 days is usually payout sometimes longer but as it's Mercedes finance by the look of the figures shouldn't be too long! I've known dealers in the past who have threatened to snatch the car back as the lease company has taken so long to pay. Can be a nightmare!
