New Car Order - Must be Mad

Ordered the car end of January and it's ready and waiting at the dealer!!! Have just arranged delivery to me on 2nd April. As I type I am trying to convince myself to get it sooner.....must hold on!!!:wallbash:

That's not bad. Mine is £457.49 + vat with £2744.94 + vat deposit. 6x23 for saloon....;)

.

Always pay slightly more over the contract period on a 6 spread compared with a 3 spread. It's to keep the monthly payments down. Road fund just for the first year. Still not a lot of money over the term for that sort of car. Over 50k retail. Mercedes are chucking lumps at em.

I dont know how these big dealers make their cash flow work... I know they have massive lines of credit but still.

Update from my end.

I've just been speaking to the MB dealer with whom I started dialogue yesterday. What he said certainly backs up v2cjb's comments i.e. there are hardly any estates about to be able to do a deal. However on the saloon front there may well be more opportunities.

I must say a big thank you to both v2cjb and mw_C32 for sharing their lease deal specifics. I have used these as target prices for my MB dealer to achieve. He will discuss with the Sales Manager and get back to me on Monday. Exciting times! :D

On what is probably a much more important front, I've still yet to even sit in a C63!! If things progress next week, I may well be in a position to commit without having even seen a vehicle. So, a few questions to all you C63 owners:

1. How does the car ride? I appreciate this is a personal thing, however it is an important factor for me. I'm currently driving a BMW E46 330i Sport (18" wheels) and the ride is firmer than I'd ultimately like. I've driven a standard C200 CGI (can't remember the wheel size) and thought the ride in that was great, however it's no C63.

2. Do all new C63's come with Command? I have downloaded the C-Class Coupe price list (Jan 2012) and it states that the standard equipment is 'COMMAND online system with media interface', however on the C63 Saloon section of the main MB UK website, it states the 'Becker Map Pilot' to be standard.

3. Does the saloon come with split/fold rear seats as standard?

Sorry for all the basic questions!!

Cheers,

I think they get a certain periods of time to pay the manufacture after the cars have been delivered to them. I know they use to. Need to ask a few on Monday just out of interest.

Hi Jay, yeah! you and me both... when I ordered the car I thought they were just using the price to draw in the punters and genuinely thought after initially placing the order that I would get a call back and say the price was wrong....

They haven't and it's not. :thumb:

Thanks Lockking, that's about right with this deal the dealer has agreed to hold the car until April 2nd and I was told they will draw the deposit by direct debit on the day of delivery, I am expecting a few days before though.

The lease starts from the day of delivery and I will expect a call in two years time to arrange collection of the car. The delivery miles will be taken into account upon return and added to the 20k miles allowed. If I go over the 20k plus delivery miles it will cost me another 9p per mile plus vat.

Hope that explains things a bit more.

Mark.

Cheers,

They do come with COMAND HDD Nav, Media interface, CD/DVD etc as standard. 6 CD changer is extra at £250. Would imaging the ride to be quite firm though. Stepdaughter had a couple of year old 335 M Sport Convertible and that was bone jarring! And it rattled like mad. Quick though. It was replaced in the end. Our old CLK Cab was a better ride.

Sorry. Started to ramble on a bit there!!:o

ghibbet,

I also have not driven the new styled C63, I only have what I remember of the last one I had so will answer based upon that.

1. The ride was quite sporty making it more than bumpy on uneven roads but for the driver (me) the seats were so comfortable and snug this made little difference to me I also had the car on 19" rims so I am expecting a slightly softer car this time on the 18's. Just for the record Mrs mw_C32 was more put off by the fact I kept dipping the throttle to hear the engine with small acceleration bursts, she got so annoyed it would give her whiplash...:o

2. I thought the saloon does NOT come as standard with comand, however the edition 125's did from last year but Lockking may know otherwise!!!
I'm not sure the one I have is an edition 125 but it does have comand, as I said earlier I wanted this car to be as cheap as possible so I have not specked any extra options apart from what was offered in the deal.

3. Don't know.

Mark.

I would sit in one before you commit! The seats - whilst being amongst the best if not the best I have ever sat in will not suit everyone especially if you are, how shall I put it, not of a normal girth. Ride is quite harsh on 19's less so on 18's (obviously) but not as bad as the previous model IMO.

Glad I could help ghibbett.

I drove an estate last week with the 19 inch wheels and found the ride fine. I am used to cars with sports suspension and big wheels .

The seats are the best ever though .

Good info re the seats. As for fitting in them, I only cause the scales a mere 11st of discomfort (5ft 9), so don't imagine they'll be too tight for me, but thanks for the heads-up :)

Ordered today at truro mercedes C63 amg estate for june delivery provided they can get a dealer to swap their amg order for another merc car that truro have on order(not an amg)

Magnetite black with porcelain/black leather with pivacy glass, black ash wood and 19" siver multispoke wheels.

Hope tomorrow they will confirm that they can get the car for me as there are only five estates in the country that can still have there spec changed to my spec.

Good luck! I am waiting for my delivery too - had a email from my dealer today quoting the VIN # so I am even more excited. Not sure if that means they are going to build the car yet or not, they originally gave me a build date of 29th march.

Well that's three new C63's on the road in the next few months. :bannana:

Not going to rub it in but out of us three It looks like I'm going to get mine 1st. :D so when I do I'll post up some pics for you all to drool over...

It's getting like 3 kids waiting for christmas, I'm still looking out for one on the road but as yet havent seen one, maybe their owners are all like Rashman and hide them up during poor weather!!!

.

Mark, please given my Touring thread in my signature some thought. Seans CLS55 was a great success up here, I imagine yours would be also very good fun up here.

Thanks for the invite Steve, I am sure I will visit Scotland at some point with this car, if I can make September I will, but have to work on getting time off for then as we have lots of things on around that time, one is a trip to a Wagner opera in Bayreuth (Lohengrin). actually I'm looking forward to this one, it was very hard to get tickets

I would also love to catch a look at Sean's car in the flesh too!!Just to see that Designio colour. :thumb:

I'll keep an eye out on the trip thread and maybe tag on somewhere.

Hi & Welcome,

I've had mine for 2 months now just getting run in (frustrations over!). Re your questions;
1). There was a new suspension set up on the facelift model to make it more daily driving friendly without compromising the abilities of the car. Having driven both, the facelift model doesn't have the tendancy of the previous one to tramline and is slightly lighter in feel (still markedly heavy compared to the 250CDI I also run). No complaints having had this as my daily driver of late.
2). 125 Edition has Command as standard, not sure when this runs out (anniversary model apparantly) then it's back as an option with Becker as standard. Command signifiantly better and worthwhile IMHO.
3). Yep, 2 & 1 (single on drivers side)
No test drive required, they are immense and deeply satisfying - the best way of feeling special at 20mph just with the burble. Enjoy!
Edd

Thanks Edd! Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions :thumb:

I spoke with an MB dealer yesterday and he informed me that Command is now standard on all C63s. This also matches the latest available price list that can be downloaded from the MB website. I certainly hope this is the case!

Anyway, I've now had what I consider to be a rather good lease deal proposal and have subsequently sent off the finance approval.....and the result was a big :thumb:. Therefore I'm spending tonight weighing up colours with the Mrs, then tomorrow is the 'push the button' day.

So that'll be another C63 on the roads this year :bannana:

Good choice, you'll not regret your decision. I've been lucky to own many enjoyable cars but these are remarkable value and endlessly entertaining.
Edd

10edd, glad you enjoying your new motor

ghibbett, I always struggle on colour when buying a new car. I decided on magnetite black after seeing it. Good luck with your colour choice. If you dont mind me asking what deal did you get.

mwc32, looking forward to seeing pics of your car you lucky thing.

My dealer emailed over to me the confirmation of my order with my options, colour choice etc and my car which will arrive around 10th June. They have swapped an amg saloon they have on order with another merc dealer for my estate order.

Deposit paid and finance approved, happy days.

VERY EXCITED and roll on June.
