Paddle Shifters... Thoughts?

Cant get on with the buttons so looking at changing to paddles. Trouble is the cost. To do it by changing the wheel costs about £800 as you need to buy an adaptor as well. Not sure it will be worth it.

Yes, you're right, it's not a particularly easy mod.
A few have done it.
I'm sure there are threads on here about it.
Hopefully someone will spot this thread and point out the procedure to help you decide if it's worth it.

Paddles are great though.
Seriously consider it.
I'm sure people on here can help you.

Personally I wouldn't - they are only an option but if you do use your buttons a lot anyway then yes do it.

There is an assessment process before being chosen. And this is no laughing matter. The way of the freak is a serious business. :D

Ok, first question:

You're driving along one day.
You see some bird poop strike your bonnet.
Do you:
a) Not worry too much, knowing it will rain later.

b) Deal with it when you get to your destination, opting to remove it with whatever is handy in your bag.

c) Hit the bloody brakes bloody immediately, swerve into the nearest bloody lay by immediately and remove that sh#t bloody immediately using an ****nal of well stocked detailing equipment kept religiously in the car?

I'd do B but I'm going to go with C.

I had buttons on my CLS55, but I managed to find a steering wheel with (came off a clk I believe ) paddles and swap it over. It was pretty much a direct bolt on.

Search on eBay.de amg lenkgrad and you can find one that works. It might be slightly different on the SL though

 It is with much regret, that I must inform you that you have failed the assessment stage. :fail You must wait 1 month before a further application can be submitted for training on the ways of the freak. :D

What? Why? Did I not tell you I'm a nightmare customer... I need a break down explanation. LOL :)

Hahaha :D Ok, I will organise some evening classes for you and see where we go from there...

You know my car hasn't been cleaned yet and now you're making me wait for evening classes? I'm off to buy some Brillo pads ;)

You won't be needing your Brillo pads at the evening classes Rash has in mind...just take snow foam and wash mits... ;)
