This is looking great in terms of numbers, at this rate I'm going to have to warn the cafe they'll need to stock up on the bacon and eggs?

There are also some great photo opportunities on this route if you are into that sort of thing, or you could get a tart from Bakewell

And I must say that it's quite telling that our lot are inclusive of all Mercedes, not just certain ones, which is out of order in my opinion...

I agree, well at least the out of order piece

Would love to come but a little far for me no matter how good the eggs are, although a Bakewell tart might be worth it.

Would have been good to meet you but I realise its a bit far, I've had a few PM and email asking if we do it again could we consider moving slightly South and slightly North so maybe its something we could do every 2 or 3 months and vary the start location

I didn't post it on the actual thread to avoid 'flaming' the situation but I just think it's wrong to exclude people from anything full stop.

Will the newer generation of AMG Sport owners be allowed to participate? Technically they are driving AMG's...

:D

Haha :D

Thing is though pal, it's a slippery slope, there actually very few proper AMG's on here if we are being purist and if we are being even more purist, anything smaller than an E-Class isn't a proper Mercedes!

The best bet would be around East Midlands Airport which is only 2 junctions down from the service area where we are meeting. Try the Hilton last time I stayed there it was very cheap £30, also there is the Days Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Then in the Village of Kegworth you have Yew Lodge Hotel and The Kegworth Hotel These are normally £40 ish. Check out laterooms.com and search around Tibshelf & Kegworth for more bargains.

Depending on what time you plan on arriving there maybe one or 2 up for a bite to eat Satuday night as we have a few people not far from there.

If you need anything else just shout :thumb:

Very kind and much appreciated indeed. :thumb:

It won't be me driving it, but maybe, just maybe, there could be one of the rarest Mercedes ever coming on this trip if I can talk the owner round...;)

I doubt we will keep up on the twisty bits...;)

He's actually got two of this model, but this one is a lot rarer.

I think it'll come down to what the weather forecast is to be honest, I doubt he'll bring it out if it's wet ground or if there's a strong chance of rain.

Excellent fingers crossed for good weather. It wont be a race anyway not like a mad hoon around Scotland.:D It will be a nice comfortable drive so people can enjoy the roads and scenery and progress at their own pace:thumb:

Any tunnels for the, er, noisier ones amongst us?
