Post Your Tank Range Here!

I usually get around 380 - 420 miles to a tank, on longer trips I have managed 480 - 500 and the worst has been less than 300. I usually fill up just before the light comes on so around 55 litres.

Filled up with petrol yesterday morning and re-set the trip.
Went to the GTG in Clumber, 2 play-time sessions with the car by Pammy and Ray and return journey.
Got just under 1/4 tank left and done 382 miles.
This is the best EVER from this motor.
Am tempted to run it right down to see what I can get.

Full to warning light is about 55 litres for my car, 340 miles.
Averaged 28.7 mpg for the Clumber Park weekend.

Just taken the kids to their grandparents in Orpington (they are going to Alicante with them for a week) and I have now done 432 miles on a tank full, but need to get some fuel in there quick now

I once had an Escort 1600 and could only acheive around 21mpg if I was lucky. I then had an oportunity to drive from Bristol to Lydney (Forest of Dean) and from there to St Albans and back to Bristol. I was in no rush so drove at 55mph on the motorways and national speed limit areas and at the speed limit in other areas. Result nearly 50mpg, but my god what a boring rided  :D :D :D Acceleration and braking is the killer of fuel comsumption figures, from a tank of fuel in my car, I average around 380miles till the ligh comes on, then fill up around 60 litres, about 28 mpg but that is mainly comute driving 8 miles each way. I know on a run it is well over 30mpg but I do not keep accurate results.

Reading this reminds me why I got a diesel.

This is my record, although it says 65mph average, it was a mix of 90mph runs, and around town driving.

I have the same car as you and had an ECU remap done (I do 60K miles a year) and now get min 390 per tank, max about 470. It was worth the £500 even though the job was done by a Volvo tuning outfit

my godfather lives in the scottish highlands, he has one of those little citreon c3 things not sure of engine size but it is diesel he has ave of 75 - 80 mpg

Wouldn't be these guys would it?

They did my C70, from 240bhp to 310bhp. A regular flying machine.........didn't like corners though
Yep, the very same ...

I had them do an 850 TDI I had earlier this year with spectacular results (so much so that I sold the car!) and they offered to do the M-B at a discount. I took them up on it. Well worth it - top guys, Adam & Hamish

Did you get your C70 suspension modded at the same time - wouldn't that have helped the cornering?

That's a picture of bliss ... pottering about in your retirement in the Scottish highlands, spending zip on bloody fuel, enjoying the clear air and wide open skies ... great new car, one of the best Citroen have made for ages ... knowing it'll see you out

Yeah Adams a top lad, C70 already had the suspension lowered only option to improve the handling would have been to install a coil over kit. Thought I'd use the money towards the C43 fund instead

Did you get the V8 economy bug? :D

I did - just wanted to see what could be achieved at first. Then I discovered the 180 mile journey London-M/cr was only taking about 10 mins longer - but it was serene, no tension, no tailgating, got home smiling with a 27 mpg average.

Or is it just my age? The onset of maturity?

Nah, not really - still getting 13mpg on empty roads :) :D

I've just done 355 miles to the warning light coming on at exactly 52 litres not 55? 31.1mpg is pretty good for me and was done using Tescos 99 Ron fuel. Assuming the reserve tank takes me to 62 lites that would give me a range of 423!

Next tank I'll see how far I can go!

C36 - Best 270mls Worst 165mls ( From full to orange light)

I get about 190 on average...... I drive short journeys of 2 miles per day to work/back + home for lunch.

Just got back from Edinburgh where I absolutely brimmed the tank before setting off. 410 mile journey back home and the range is still saying about 80 miles, indicated MPG = 37. Not bad for a C320.

Here is the MFD for the trip :-

Here is the overall fuel economy of our touring holiday to Scotland :-

I used to run the M1 to London fairly often and found that if I set the cruise to 70Mph, I would often be going faster than the cars that had overtaken me previously, and would need to slow down.

Best ever to a tank is 655 miles at 39.9 mpg. My car only has a small tank though, 73L, same as the E200, all larger petrols have an 80L tank for range.

Best ever tank mpg is 40.4.

500SL.....too busy filling it up to find out, but it seems to get me from one garage to another!!
