Post Your Tank Range Here!

Woohoo! Drove all the way to Cosford in Shropshire and back to Maidstone on one tank today!

420 miles and the light is just about to come om I reckon. That was at 85 set on the cruise most of the way.

Pretty darn good for a V6 with autobox I reckon!

Well, we've just moved to West London, and the fuel consumption has gone down *dramatically*. I've just driven down to the bone (range indicator says 0 miles and 0 gallons) and it's done 270 miles :-( Rather depressing considering that when we lived in Chafford Hundred I managed to get 500 at one point. Ok so my driving is a lot more city based now, but *that* much of a difference? 270 miles out of my full tank is 17.5 miles per gallon!

Just driving to work etc and back since last november (started keeping proper records)

worst: 341.5m / 62.56l = 24.81mpg
best: 445.3m / 60.91l = 33.23mpg

I reckon on a long journey I'd be able to get about 500 miles out of a tank, not really had cause to take one since beginning the records.

Thats awful from a diesel. My petrol ML320 did better than that around town

I'm getting a sustained average of 23.4mpg from my CLK320 and that is mostly town driving. Its 4 miles to work and 4 miles back, day in day out at the moment. I think that sort of mpg from a petrol 3.2litre is great but then I am not a speed freak

My lad has justed spotted a news item on the Top Gear website - after the 100,000 mile run (reported on a while back), three standard E320CDIs were filled with 80 litres, sealed by independent supervisors and driven from Laredo to Tallahasse - 1039 miles @ 59.46mpg average for the trip!

And I was happy with 45-46 mpg on the run back from Nottingham y'day, which includes a 50 miles cross-country trip through the back roads of Surrey and Sussex after getting fed up with the traffic jams..........

My C220 CDI averages around 33mpg on purely urban driving, but on a trip I can easily get between 45 and 50 mpg. Interestingly I have also found that the fuel consumption has improved as I have done more miles, as to begin with I wasn't getting such good figures.

The warning light came on at 391 miles yesterday :)

If the queues weren't so awful on the M62 the figure would be better than that.

Best: in France, fully loaded and at a steady 140kmh: 411 on 59 litres

Normal: 380, 90% motorway driving pegged at 87mph on cruise

Worst: 280 'til the light, but I was 'experimenting' with the kick down :D

I've found 140kms/87mph to be the sweet spot for economy on the 240.

For economy purposes I tried 65mph and found it a lot better on my c230k, what with the queues I rarely get to over 70mph anyway :(

Lazarus, I think you're absoutely right; i found between 85-87mph to be the sweet spot too. Just done 700 miles this week in France and got just over 400 on the first tank, second one still going...

260E = 310 miles :o ( I have a lead Right Foot)
E220 = dont know yet, tell you after Torquay :p
Just to update my previous post. E220 Coupe 34 mpg at a steady 70 - 80 mph. There must be some big fuel tanks in some of your cars

On LPG.....

Mixed driving, 26mpg - 67ltr tank (57ltr fill up as only 80%) = 310mls for £23!! :D

On unleaded....

Mixed driving, 30mpg - not sure of tank size? = 350mls for £50!!

I am always striving to beat 445m!

The worst was 324 miles - but that might have been because it had just been serviced, the kickdown worked, and I was on the little rally roads! :)

Well, smashed my records! I got 452 and 440 this week! Commuting to the Loire valley every week for the last 5 weeks has pushed my lifetime average up to 32mpg! Not bad for a V6 auto eh?

w210 e300td

this weeks fill up gave me 435 mls averaged 35.7 mpg - not bad for a 3ltr which isnt driven sedately - lots of motorway tho - trip to wolverhampton - but also many  traffic jams - usually average around 32 - 34 mpg

First day I drove the CLK55 - 9mpg :D

Normal driving CLK55 140min-285max :bannana:
Normal driving 200TE 260min-380max :)
