Just wanted to give another thumbs up to the guys working at PCS - especially Graham this time. Had my CLK in last month for a B service. Borrowed the courtesy car (can't believe its only a fiver!) and took my wife shopping - that was the expensive bit.
Anyway, Graham serviced the car and gave me a quick call to say it was all done. Only thing he picked up was the front thrust arms which he advised doing before I replaced the front tyres - due within the next month or two.
Returned the courtesy car having replaced the fuel I used - can't believe some people have complained about this part of the service - and took the CLK home.
I considered doing the thrust arms myself but in the end didn't really fancy lying in the road under the car for a few hours (more likely half a day in my case) - I must be starting to get old / lazy!!
Fast forward to today. Drove the car down to PCS to have the thrust arms done. Graham was working today so I left the car with him while he finished another customers car and nipped into town for a spot of breakfast (full english + mug of tea -£5.50, good value). Wandered back just as work was starting on the car.
Now I don't usually like looking over somebody's shoulder while they work (dont like it myself) but I was interested to see what problems I may have had if I'd done the job myself. Graham didn't seem to mind and was more than happy to answer any questions I had. I had read up on this job and was aware that its important to tighten the bolt that goes through the main bush with weight on the car - how many garages / diy'ers might not have done that? He achieved it with a long reach floor press - excellent piece of equipment.
Job completed and at a very reasonable price. Back on the road again with no more squeaking/clattering from the front end that had been anoying me for months.
Thanks again guys for providing such an excellent service.
