Question on exterior mods

I've been thinking about modding the exterior and interior of my C180T Classic W202 but don't want to go over board as i'm thinking of saving up for an AMG Estate (c36 if its available) or an C250TD in the long run. The only changes that I've made on the car is fitting a set of AMG 17" alloy's, replace the gearshift with a part leather/wood one from MB and have the car fully resprayed. :D

For the exterior I've been thinking of getting the car's suspension lowered slightly and changing the standard grill to the avant style from matrixcar.de which I've see on a a few cars here.

Inside the car - the only thing that I don't really like is the wood panels on the doors which just look appauling. Is there any way to change these easily? I'd also like to fit the MB chrome pedals, chrome door pins and may be change the steering wheel. I have thought about changing the bumpers to the face lift type but I think that may be too much for me.

Is there anything else worth changing without going overboard? Any pointers, opinion and info would be really appreciated.

They didn't do a C36 estate, go for a C43 ;)

Sounds good! The only other thing you could do would be to colour code the door handles.

Think the wood panel removal/swap is fairly easy. Do a search on here, I am sure someone swapped out the wood trim for the sport carbon fibre (plastic ;)) trim.
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the reply and the pointers. Just one last thing what supsension/spring setup would you recommend for a w202? I was thinking a 20mm drop but looking at most springs their mostly 30mm.

I did teh search on the forum on the wood trim upgrade and found what I think is a really good "how to " by R2D2 but all fo the picts have been removed here it is:

No problem mate! I think most lowering springs lower by about 30mm IIRC. I have H&R on mine, but I think Eibach do a set aswell.

Bear in mind that the acual amount the car gets lowered can be tweaked using sping pads. These are numbered from #1 to #5 and differ by 5mm in thickness; #1s being the thinest. You can get these from your dealer. Do a seach and you should find all the part numbers you need :D
