Does anyone know the high level operation cycle of this? The car has keyless, so the feature is brilliant - just approach the boot, pull the handle & up it goes.

Except this morning it didn't. Pulled the handle & the lid popped up an inch but didn't fully "unlatch", so had to pull the handle again & lift open.

I'm maybe answering my own question here, but say a boot gas strut was losing lift pressure, does the panel think that because the lid doesn't achieve a certain height on unlocking, it doesn't kick in the hydraulic lift?

I noticed when lifting the boot lid by hand it feels really heavy, so another question - is the apparent weight likely to be a failed gas strut, or by lifting by hand am I also overcoming the resistance of the hydraulic struts by forcing fluid through the system giving the same sensation as weight?

I did notice that when I stopped raising about 3/4 of the way to fully open, the lid was starting to fall back so I think the gas strut the likeliest but would be grateful for any opinion.

Mine does exactly what yours is doing now even down to the boot being heavy and sinking down if it is not opened fully. To be honest I didn't think they had a powered boot lift.

I have some new struts to fit so will do that this week and see what it does then.

Obviously an option, but the pics show it's on mine :thumb:

In the unlikely (given the cause) event anyone else has the same problem - a broken wire. Not cured as yet, but by slightly rerouting the wiring, it's currently working awaiting a permanent fix.

Not impressive for a 2008 with less than 30k miles
