will it work on a diesel the gear changes are a little noticable on them anyway 722.6 box and do you hold the peddle down to the kick down or just up to that point

Try this one.
Start her up, warm her by driving slowly into the city centre, park up leaving the driver's door wide open, engine running, lights on. Then go for a two minute walk up the street.

Good question - you can't drive hard all the time, so I wonder how much feathering the throttle it takes for it to think that's what you prefer!

Just done this on mine, and noticed a definate improvement in light throttle response...

I have a 92 300td & thought i would give it go anyway as I'm not even sure with my limited knowledge if this applies to my vehicle. Anyway i carried out the reset and due to the fact my 300 seemed to drive like an old donkey it now seems to have a little more get up & go. If the previous owner drove it carefully the reset may have worked for me. Could just be wishfull thinking! Tankie

Probably is, your car has mechanical injection and gearbox.

Yes it worked on my 98 E300td and a friend and i did the reset on his wifes 46000mile ML270cdi and did not tell her what we had done and she foned her husband the next day to ask why her jeep was quicker than itr used to be!!!!
So this would confirm that it does make a diff.

I tried it as well - what a difference ! - Gearchanges when I want them, no lag on power pickup, no hesitation on overtaking at m/way speeds (rather than the floor-it, followed by the old lurch and little happening on the speedo scenario ....) - AND it gave me a better mpg.

I purchased my W210 E320 two weeks ago. It’s my first automatic car and I thought it went well with some hesitation when trying to get out of junctions etc. but after following the instructions I know how good a Mercedes Auto box can be.

Idle speculation....

If the procedure recalibrates the full scale travel point on the pedal potentiometer...

What if you held the pedal 1/2 travel during the procedure,
Would full pedal travel then give you 200% throttle ?

or would you get 0-->100% in the first half of the travel and then nothing ?
Would make pulling away gently a little tricky...

If it didnt make a difference to her jeep it wouldnt work on anybodys, her ML is still on its 1st set of tyres with 46000 miles and 3mm+ tread all round. She really drives nice and easy.
