It's also the Hampton Court Flower Show that weekend - the A308 is bad enough at the best of times :(

Ermm - correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't Hampton Court Flower Show already taken place? I live less than a mile away and drive past it every day, it was a couple of months ago?? ;)

Of course, there could be another show of some sort, but the proper flower show that gets all the crowds has already been and gone :)

Graham - you'll need a better excuse than that mate :p :D:D

Will

Edit - enough of this whining about the 'A308' :p, it's not that bad and I use it every day in rush hour! :o

Anonymous negative feedback for this? Hilarious!

I was merely pointing out people can expect to sit in traffic as I did two weeks ago - 45 minutes to get from the Kempton Park to Hampton Court Bridge. Graham did you get negative feedback for pointing out the car park may not fit us all in!?

No joy on this one, I'll be sat at work stopping the muppets from crashing the system. Have a drink for me

Stats - I can 120% guarantee that I have had nothing to do with this anonymous negative feedback! :( Merely pointing out that the road in question, although busy, is not all that bad!

Would whoever is responsible please care to make themselves known?

Not in the spirit of these forums - have a +ve simply because I feel that anonymous feedback is cowardly :)

Ah the wonderfull system!

Anyway, I appreciated the information for one. Did we get to the bottom of what event is on?

I can't find anything about a flower show at Hampton Court over the 17th Sept. There's the big Autumn flower show in Harrogate that weekend, but nothing on the RHS site for Hampton Court.

But - it is the Open House weekend which is the periodic freebie so it is likely to be perhaps busier than normal. But I doubt you'd get the traffic you would for the flower show.

details here scroll down to the relevant bit ;)

The Flower Show is long gone......

the Great River Race is on on the 17th but thats from Twickenham to Greenwich ...... and takes place actually on the river so shouldn't affect us ...... ;)

Like Will, i live about half a mile from the Palace, and the Flower Show traffic inspires dread in me ......

EDIT :-

If you are coming, expect to hit a bit of traffic on the A308 around the waterworks at that time, you will only be about a half mile away from teh Bell and it moves a long slowly but constantly. The reason for the traffic is because you come out of quite a quick road into a 20  limit , and people jam on the brakes, coupled with the fact that there are two roads on the left feeding in, so when they see people slowing to 20  every man and his dog pulls out, which slows traffic even more... there will be no big hold up, just a bit of slowly but constantly advancing traffic.

From what I can gather it isn't the main flower show (July?) but something to tie in with the weekend of Mayoral Thames celebrations - I'm not up to date on flower shows myself...

Going to have to bail guys. V sorry.

Have a professional exam on the Monday, on the 'Substantial Acqusistion Rules and Takeover Code' - of which i know merely the basics. Thus, i need full studytime at the weekend as I cant get study leave from work :(

Stats - again, I am sorry if I seemed to over react somewhat the other night. All I was trying to point out was that Hampton Court flower show has long finished, and I definately had nothing to do with your -ve feedback/rep points or whatever. At least it seems to have turned around for you now anyway :) .

Yes the 'A308' does get busy at some times, but not enough to worry about? You could probably say that about virtually any major route in the area.

I've no real preferance for the venue, but even if the Bell's car park was to be busy, there is enough easy parking around there for it not to be a major problem?

Most nice pubs that are by a river are always going to be popular - I don't know The Bell all that well but I am sure that there are worse venues out there.

Lets hope for nice weather and I'll look forward to seeing you all next weekend :)

90% certain i'll be there, just need to confirm someone else is covering me that afternoon then it'll be 100% :)
