The EV fact thread

We've got 34 million ICE vehicles to be replaced. Many of which are doing a thousand miles a day, 40 weeks of the year, with no time parked up.

Ignore those who don't have the potential for easy charging.

Focus on those who can charge at home, at work, in supermarket car parks, at the cinema etc.

Commercial charging is a very profitable business. It won't take long for businesses to plumb in chargers to bring in revenue. From McDonalds to Sainsbury's: they know they can sell you energy more cheaply and more profitably than the Saudi Royal Family.

Jeremy Clarkson mentioned the Dacia Spring in his newspaper column this week:

''LITERALLY no one was running around and shrieking with glee at the news that Dacia, the Romanian car maker, is poised to launch a fully electric car with a price tag of just £16,000.

Fitted with a motor much more powerful than the one you find in a Magimix, it has a range of several hundred yards, and it is £10,000 less than the next cheapest rival, the Chinese MG4.

Yes, but it is £16,000 more expensive than walking. Which is probably the best alternative.''

Interestingly, Elon Musk claims that he saw a script on the set of TG that said that the Tesla will 'break down' on the track exactly where it 'coincidentally' did in the show......

That doesn't suprise me at all.
The only thing you can actually believe about EVs and ICE cars for that matter, is from people that have actually owned them. Not drove them for about an hour or a day.
Not so called "professional" car reviewers. And don't get me started on the amateur you tube brigade.:oops::rolleyes:

The outcome of course was that all of Tesla's claims were dismissed by the court, they appealed, lost again and gave up. I don't suppose they publicised that though.
Doesn’t help the fact that it was still anti-EV nonsense lol.. hence when they had the MX on the grand tour they were careful with what they said.

The lawsuit wasn't about whether it actually happened, that wasn't questioned... it was about what financial damages - if any - did Tesla incur as result of this 'hoax'.

And Tesla lost because the court accepted that "...nobody watching the programme could have reasonably likened the Roadster's performance on the Top Gear track to how it would behave in a real-world street car setting". Hence no (financial) damage done by Jeremy Clarkson's prank.

Elon Musk's bruised ego has no monetary value, apparently....

Underground parking for new tower blocks so the residents can charge their EV's . What a great Idea .

They very rarely catch fire , but when they do !!.. But I am sure the companies that build them will not skimp ££ on fire safety , even if it hit's them in the pocket.
Thank goodness no petrol car has ever caught fire.

Yet that’s exactly what a lot of ‘anti-EV’ crowd do… they’ve never even sat in one let alone driven or lived with one… but have a massively strong opinion on them influenced by watching videos etc.

I saw this info on another site and have absolutely no idea it it’s correct or some anti EV BS. Does anyone know if it’s right or not?

Electric cars don't pollute, sure?
"The stupidity of the human being!
Here you have the Tesla battery.
To produce it you need to excavate:
12 tons. of rock by lithi
5 tons. of cobalt minerals
3 t. from mineral to nickel
12 tons. of copper mineral
Need to move 250 tons. of land to obtain:
12 kg of lithium
13.6 kg of nickel
22 kg of manganese
6.8 kg of cobalt
100 kg of run
200 kg of aluminum, steel and plastic.
The Caterpillar 994A used to move this earth consumes 1000 litres of diesel in 12 hours.
Here you have the "zero emissions" car.
The biggest scam in history."
