Thoughts on this car (W211 E55 AMG)?

Hmm, that bodes well then. I suppose individual circumstances are different and someone needing to sell quick works in your favour.

On AT - I've typically searched MB, E class, £5k > £20k, Nationwide from SW1A1AA, more than 5 litres engine size.

You get all the E500s but not many - you should see a green E55K in the results (there is a green E500 as well). Mrs JB hates green cars.

I like the wheels on it.

Would I have bought mine if it was that colour? Probably not. Just like it - maybe because it is something different.

I bought a 54 plate 85k miler for just over £11k in April.

It didn't have keyless go, ventilated seats or distronic. It did have a panoramic sunroof. It was in excellent condition, especially the interior.

As you aren't in a hurry, you could see how the silver 54 plate one goes.

If it is up for a while - you could go in with a strong offer in your favour...

I think that's my plan, unfortunately I cant make it down south on weekend now so looking at fitting a viewing on one that is relatively local to me (but high mileage and old - although bit of a bargain). Drive it and check it out with a view to taking a few days off next week to go and see ones in Hook and Salisbury as well to compare.

Nice spec and miles, seats look like they are cracking on the perforated sections.

Rear drivers side do tend to sit slightly lower but that does look to much so you get this checked.

Yes, the rear NS seems very low even with those 19s. The other side is not the same. Don't think it is broken spring.

Could be the camber of the floor but given the surface, I would imagine that would be flat.

Also - very worn seats again. Someone with sandpaper jeans?

Not sure about the mileage and those tyres are shyte.

This car has been for sale since at least June...it was on the market when i was searching for mine....i did call the dealer (i think back in July)....i don't think he has lowered the price much in that time....don't understand why dealers would have stock lying around so long....

I agree with you ..what people think the cars are worth and what they would actually get are two different things....stick to your budget (like i did) this is a fantastic time of year to be buying with cash in your pocket...bought mine last month, mint A1 04, 72k, FMBSH, nearly all the toys and cost less than 10k cash (just)...so they are around, it just takes time to find one (took me 3 months / 5 viewings), i was on the verge of giving up but hung in there...the right car will come along in your budget....

As above that car has been for sale for a VERY long time, i first spoke to the actual owner when he had it up for sale, we spoke about a trade on one of my M5's but we didn't agree on price

He then traded it in or sold it to them and it's been at that dealer since

Just like the advice of waiting for the right car that's within budget, the dealer just needs to wait for the right buyer. It does depend on how much profit they have in it as well.

If that had the full screen COMAND, it would have the perfect W211 spec.

Could retro fit COMAND.

That fits into my throwaway cash budget, might by it myself for a weekend toy. I won't need COMAND for that.

Ahhhhh, so that's what that is.

I saw this car a week or so ago and I couldn't work out if it was a trick of the light or something odd was going on with that screen.
