Why not go to the website and register first and confirm that's works then try connecting device and updating after.
I seem to remember I did it this way round as I wanted to read up on it before I actually had the unit
I tried this, but was unable to locate how to actually register on the site. They simply have an "If you're already a member click here". Nothing about making a new account or becoming a member.
As for calling, they aren't available on the weekend. And I'm typically at work during their tech support hours.
