Hi all, I have just completed an oil change on my CLK and was expecting an option on the dashboard controls to check the oil level..

Were these an optional fitment as I do not have an option on the menu to do check the level/amount of oil needed.

Thanks,

Alan

What year is it, is it a facelift with the bigger display on the speedo?

2001 facelift one.. Big round speedo with a large display in the centre with 2 smaller displays (that dont work due to pixel fade) on each side showing rpm and the other side with fuel and temp.

Thanks,

Alan

Just checked my handbook and I think it might only be for CLK320/430/55

But the procedure is to turn key to position 2. Press the page button on the steering wheel until you have the trip meter and total distance display. then press the up or down button until you get to the relevant screen display.

You never know might work.

Yep.. tried that one.. I used the good old fashioned dipstick and all appears to be well! I dont know if its just my car but with fresh oil in it is a little difficult to see the oil level with an orange dipstick. Was easy when the oil was dirty!

Many thanks!

Alan

Yeah, dirty oil is good for some things :D
