Hi all,
First off i hope this is the correct place for this post, sorry if it's not.
I did some digging around and realised that MB only supply roof bars for the W209 clk.
So i bought a set (number B66850265) which they assured me would go on.
They fit nicely as they should around the contours of the car etc.
However, the bolts they supply are M7 (10.9grade) but the 4 mounting nuts in my car roof are M6!.
I could obviously make them fit by putting in M6 bolts in (upgrade to 12.9 grade) but have went back to MB to sort out as i suspect if anything goes wrong after fitting M6 bolts i'm up to my neck in it.
They have told me that i can buy a repair kit?! which will sort out the problem and even sent me screen shots of the shop floor information system. Which quite frankly is useless as it doesnt tell the technician what he actually has to do.
They just want me to buy the repair kit ans hope they can figure it out when they recieve it becuase as tehy said"we have nevr seen anything like this before" well you have now so sort it.
I told them to find out the procedure before i buy the kit. I'm not happy.
It seems to me that all they will do is open the M6 hole upto M7, which is fine, i just want to know what they will do .
Surely this is not the first case of this happening?
Has anyone else had this problem?
And i am sorry for fitting or at least trying to fit roof bars on my CLK but i do like to get out on ones bike!!
