W211 Spring broken, Local mechanic or Indi?

2005, E280 CDI o/s/f spring broken... Is this a simple task the could be done at local mechanic or better go to Merc specialist?

N.B: MB dealer quoted me £300 pounds for replacing the front pair (it says, 2 white 1 blue 1.2 each total 2.4 hours)

Buy the springs from the dealer, quoting your VIN as they are very specific to the car.

A Merc Specialist would be better than a general garage as these front struts and springs need Merc specific compressors to do safely.

Local mechanic is fine, should be able to turn a pair round in around 1-1/2hrs

I've had both my front springs snap and just used a local garage to replace them for a fairly low cost.
