W447 Vito ICE Upgrades door speakers

Ok looking to install Component Focal speakers to the doors 130cm (tweeter in dash)
Anyone know what depth there is behind factory installed speakers?
I assume I will need MDF rings also
gonna get them fitted when van goes in to get interior door handle sticking issue resolved ,so not wanting to remove panels beforehand
need to order speakers if they are gonna fit without cutting doors.


also late 2016 anyone have colours of the speaker cables L/R @ back of head unit

Speaker mountings look very similar to the ones in the vw transporter with a modular mounting secured to the door if its not p**ing down this weekend I'll have a proper look as I want to add door end lights, regards speaker wiring colours most quadlocks have the same speaker terminal arrangement so it should be relatively easy to work out if you google "quadlock", the wires nearly always tend to be installed on mercs but I dont know where they terminate, sorry if this sounds a bit vague

The doors take 165mm speakers, so 130mm rather range limited. There are adapter rings available to let you install 165mm speakers, and as you've spotted you can use component speakers with the tweeters on the dash

I actually looked and found that 165mm is speaker size that would fit in W447
so it is gonna be the following items
1.Adapter rings
2.Audison AVK6
3.Audison bit ten
4.amp not sure as looking @ size JL Audio XD or Audison bigger physically
already fitted JL Audio sub and amp :bannana:

My Van is in MB under warranty as I type .

N/S internal door handle is faulty "sticks" new one on way from Germany
while door trims are off speaker being wired with oxygen free cable

When I get it back gonna see how the Audio 15 sounds driving them till I get chance to fit separate amp and processor

Speakers sound a lot better than standard ones driven off standard head unit.
amp going in over the weekend to give that extra clout and clarity via the bit ten
to tweak input to amp.. :bannana:

They do seem a lot - I just replaced the headunit and put in a pair of 5 inch rears to get a bit more surround sound - the pioneer HU makes a huge difference over the audio 15

I actually have been a DJ since 1977 (youth club) and Radio show so seems as I spend a lot of time in My W447 best place to listen to new/old/mixes /promotional music

even have a studio (£6k) set up in My Study/office lifetime passion music.
that is why!!
amp is the Audison Voce Quattro and Audison bit 10
skipped cost on sub JL Audio with JX amp (from My previous W639 recycled)

Actually sound Great ! even technicians @ MB were impressed
when the amp in processor is fitted looking for a AWESOME sound!
