What car did you pass your driving test in?

austin metro vanden plas in 1991 . 5 weeks after my 17th birthday .

Then bought a mk2 escort for £200 , oh dear ! the rust ! the mushrooms growing in the carpet ! there is nothing like a very poorly handling rear wheel drive car after passing your test . of course i bought fat XR2 pepper pot alloys and tires for £300 so it was even more light and slippy ....

On 10th October 1989 I passed my test in one of these

1985 Toyota Corolla :o

A Datsun 1600 (510) 1972, K reg! I went on to keep it 2 years and then sold it to a friend who totalled it after 2 weeks.

Learned on and passed my test in my dad's 1970 W115 220/8 This one was a 4 speed manual with column change , right hand 'umbrella' handbrake and foot operated dipswitch .

I subsequently was given this car after my dad replaced it with a W123 .

1983 - 1 litre Ford Fiesta.

Dad went mental - I passed my test then went to play snooker with my mates and didn't phone him to tell I had passed.

Ford Escort MkII 1300GL passed first time on 9th August 1988.

A Mini 850 I even remember the reg number, OGN926P - it was my first car that I sprayed in orange peel black, fited carlos fandago super wide wheels and used to cost a Fiver to brim the tank.

Its not the worse car I've driven, thats reserved for the Vauxhall Cavalier :o
Excellent car, after all one million reps can't be wrong can they?

Passed in a - Talbot Sunbeam :o (now there's a question; are there more Sunbeam Talbots left on the road than Talbot Sunbeams?)

Mk III Escort I think.. it was the instructors.

First car was a Mk II 2.8 Granada - £5 of petrol would get the needle off the stop to the top of the orange reserve marker :D

One of these (but not as clean as this one!)

My instructor guaranteed a pass or free lessons until I did. On the morning of the test, I had a lesson before the test and got everything wrong.

He shouted at me an said he'd never have put me in for my test if he'd known I was going to fu** it up like this.

On the test, I stalled, and overshot the entrance to the test station. Still passed first time! :bannana:
