What car did you pass your driving test in?

Passed first time in a Mk II Ford Focus. A very good car to drive.

Morris Marina Coupe (1275cc). Although this wasn't mine, I had an identical one of these, bought it a month before my 17th birthday, passed test 6 weeks after.

My first vehicle was a blue Morris Marina 1275 van JJO 823S.

Probably the only good thing about it (although I thought it was fab at the age of 17) was the aerodynamic door handles. :o

Fiat Punto - instructors car, and after 4 lessons (applied for the test and then realised some lessons would be good - had driven on tracks, etc for ages).

Picked up company car the next day - Audi Coupe...

Nissa Primera 2.0 - back in 1992.

After passing the test, my instruction asked if he could drive. Sure. He then sped through the whole city to make an appointment.

Got home and took my first car out, alone. A Ford Sierra 2.0i CLX (injection, 5 speed, 120bhp). Boy, was it fun.

Here's a pic

Finally found a picture of my first car and the one I passed my test in (first time, 6 weeks after 17th!)

It's exactly the same, even the colour!

Austin metro 1.3HLE - instructors car, in 1980. He had a carefully positions AA sticker in the back window for reversing round corner purposes...

Drove off from the test centre, turned left at the end of the road (quiet side streets) and lifted the back wheel over the kerb  Still passed though - I was sure I'd messed it up so just relaxed for the rest of the test.

oh it was the instructors car, I learnt to drive in Toton, Nottingham - the instructor I had gave me some "invaluable advice" after passing my test..

"...invest wisely in some nice soft leather driving gloves which will help you keep a good grip on the steering wheel..." :thumb:

passed 2nd time in instructors J plate Pug 205 diesel - happy days indeed :)

Passed first time in my instructors Ford Fiesta in the UK in January 1984.

I had done quite a bit of driving in Zimbabwe with my mum in her Datsun 120y and dads Peugot 505 on school holidays out there building up to the test.

A nice metallic brown one of these. My instructor was called Lee, had grey hair with a perm, and wore aviator sunglasses.....

It was 1986 I suppose

Imagine taking your first (only!) driving test in a bright red Rover Metro (sorry, "114 Kensington") around the streets of Wolverhampton with a man dressed as a woman in the passenger seat...

That was me. Passed, 17 minor faults :o including "inappropriate use of speed", which from memory would have been every time we drove past a group of people.

In an olive green Fiat 126 (600 cc) in 1977, reg. JPJ 212N.

It was my mum's car ... when it failed the MOT (body rot) she gave it to me, and it became the "Mean Machine" (heavily tongue in cheek!).
