What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Took one to the detailer for a maintenance wash, and it’s looking much better now. It’s not been done for a few weeks, and whilst it’s barely been used it’s kept outside and so was filthy - leaves, berries, and bird poo.

Having lots of trees in the garden and surrounding area is a real pain at this time of year!

Changed some discs and pads on a friends W204 I'd been telling him needed changed for ages.

Would have been good for another good few miles perhaps?

Pads looking good too!

The battery on Missy had gone flat! So jumped her from the old girl and gave her a good run out, stopped at the services for a coffee then back home . Apparently the battery I have in her isn't the correct one 🤔 no idea how that happened , so when it's next in for service, I'll treat her to the correct one :thumb:

My E53 coupe had its second service today. I got 3 years free servicing from new so it didn’t cost me anything 😄

I don’t know if it’s just me but something that infuriates me is why settings on the car are tampered with which have got nothing to do with the service. When I got the car back the dash display had been completely changed from how I had configured it. Why??😡

Because some spotty kid on work experience was allowed to muck about in your car.

Maybe they applied a software update?

I have backed up my car settings today as well, its going for an ESP recall and Airmatic update on Friday.

I am somewhat concerned at the 'Santising process' involved in the current climate and duly informed them today (JCT600 franchise is local, I don't want to drive to Marshall in Preston in this weather) if they attempt to sanitise my Dinamica steering wheel they will be replacing it. The thickoid on the end of the phone didn't really have a clue what I was talking about so we will see how this pans out....

Could you request they shrink wrap it with a roll on film instead?

When the car had a service in May, Marshall gave me a sealed bags with a pair of gloves and a steering wheel protector and shift lever condom which I had to put on, the perfect logical solution. The Jct 600 franchise replied to the pictures I shared of this with a 'we will get back to you' message....

Washed Missy as she got a bit dirty driving round the country lanes when I took her out the other day , all clean now :thumb:

Fitted a new main battery, anything that could go wrong did. Apart from the weight of the thing, you need the hands and wrists of a gynaecologist to manoeuvre the bits and pieces around. Mind you, dropping the clamp and set screw down the side of the engine didn’t help. That’s three hours I’ll never get back.

More welding, but getting there. Respray booked for mid January. New wings have arrived.

Just looking for one more part, which I can't find anywhere, which connects the lower part of the wing to the lower radiator.

Booked the SL in for four wheel alignment.

I gave the van a proper good ‘wheels off’ clean. A full wax and interior Vallet. Wheels n tyres dressed. Also give the trailer a good ole clean. Both now tucked away in the garage until 5th Jan. 🥳
