Took the S204 to the tyre shop as the rear NS is loosing pressure. Found nothing wrong with the tyre, but 2 carcks in the inside rim about 6-8" apart. Went to the alloy repair shop - crackes are too close together to be safely repaired. Ordered replacement identical rim off eBay with 2 working day courier delivery so should have it Wednesday and be able to get the tyre swopped over, then book car in for all 4 wheels to be refurbed Ireplacement is black and kerbed, front OS powdercoat breaking up badly, other 2 powdercoat starting to go). never rains...all I needed ATM was an unexpected £350 bill!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Replacement rim arrived, tyre swopped over and rim fitted to car, booked in for Tuesday for all 4 wheels to be refurbed and powder coated proper MB silver.

Put some rubber mats in and rubber boot mat

Drove it, top down, sport mode, winter tyres ..... rather god fun!

I fitted a replacement ( ebay item ) passenger door mirror on the GL as the motor was playing up, I found a replacement in the correct colour silver, a quick look on you tube to find the hidden screws to remove the panel and 20 minutes later all done and working !

Looked at it and thought it needs a wash, but decided it was a bit too cold.

Thought the same for mine last Sunday, but Tier 4 had closed my normal car wash place so car is still dirty!

Took one very clean black Mercedes to a drive in cinema to watch Home Alone 2. It was great fun - even if it made even a trip to a proper cinema seem good value, and that’s saying something - but I left with a very dirty brown Mercedes.

I took one to be serviced at a main dealer I haven’t used for many years. Great service, great price too.

We set off in two spotlessly clean cars, and arrived home in two filthy cars, but it was worth it to get out of the house for a bit!

It’s a good job that it was a good price, because I had only done 809 miles since the last service 12 months ago! 😁

Took the S204 to the wheel refurbish place for all 4 wheels to be stripped and powder coated the proper MB silver with a metal fleck, will be gald to be rid of the black one, it looks so wrong with carneol red, will post before and after photos when I get the car back on Thursday afternoon. This meant I had to get the SLK out for the first time in a month or more, enjoyed the drive even though it was only a few miles.

I took one for the longest drive I’ve been on since August and it was absolutely blooming amazing. Getting out and doing something relatively normal has done the whole family the world of good.

This car doesn’t see much action, and usually sits looking all clean and spangly, but having taken it to the main dealer for a service yesterday it was sat on the drive and manky, so perfect for a run today.

We went for a run through the snowy countryside and then ventured into Birmingham for the third time in 10 months, which is ridiculous considering that we’d usually be there 1-3 times each week.

We didn’t get out of the car or come into contact with anyone until we were close to home, and the purveyor of the finest fish & chips in the area delivered some to the window of my car.

Having a drive and eating fish & chips outside was good for the soul, and will no doubt help us get through the coming days and weeks at home. I love being at home, but I love being out & about even more!

With the exception of the Smart, it’s the oldest, least valuable, least powerful, most unwieldy, most practical family car we have, and it was absolutely blooming perfect for a memorable drive. Love that car.

Great to hear about your adventure Rob. What a buzz it is to go for a drive just for the sake of it. 👏👏

And a grand finale F&C treat. 🥳

Thanks for sharing. 👍
