What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

What have I done to my Merc.... This could take a while... I had to have my rear braking system swapped out( new adjuster, cables,.discs, pads & shoes) after about a month I went in for adjustment & came out £700+ lighter 😬😬 whilst there they found rear bearing on its way out and when removing the wishbone found a snapped spring & then there was my other issue so I wont even mentioned the engine!!

😂 That might work in Hyderabad, but this is Birmingham UK. Sure, there will be unlicenced guns in the hands of criminals but see what happens if you let off a firearm on the streets, even if in the direction of a car thief. You'd be in handcuffs before you knew it.

Re aftermarket anti theft protection, yes its a good idea, but you need to be aware that there are people out there who will stop at nothing to gain access to valuable cars. If they want it badly enough, they will get it either by force or technology.
Invested in camera set up linked to phone. Voice through camera, night vision etc…like you say, if someone wants it enough they will stop at nothing to take it. At least can try and deter the criminals.

Good job Sarah, does it work now??

Cleaned my door sills.

Plus,

Cleaned, clayed, polished and coated my windscreen

I was typing a reply then deleted it i thought the same tbh lol

You guys make me laugh. Honestly.
I mention I'm not trying to be sexist and giving praise for a job well done and you have a go!
No wonder members are leaving this forum.
It's like treading on eggshells sometimes.
Damned if you mention it, damned if you don't.

I think its more the fact you mentioned it in the first place 👀

Repainted the wheels gloss black and replaced the centre caps with a more sleek style i think the black wheels bring the car together a bit more colour scheme wise and generally just give it a bit of a more aggressive look, the diamond cuts were nice but only looked good in direct sunlight which rarely happens here  also colour coded the chrome grille surround and lower chrome trim on the front bumper to match the rear of the car.

Spent twenty minutes cleaning out the drilled holes in my discs with a small drill bit. Luckily there is enough room between the spokes to get my hand in. Obviously could only do the outsides

That's commitment to keeping your car clean if I've ever seen it, i thought i kept my cars clean and in good condition but that's never crossed my mind to clean the drilled discs lol, hats off to you

Clean exterior, well maintained. What made you pick these tires?

Cheers mate, I actually didnt pick them when i bought the car roughly 4 months ago it had a new set all round that the dealer had fitted so it seemed a waste to bin them, once there worn out ill put a decent set on probably go for eagle f1’s or rainsports as its a daily.

I've barely used my car for two weeks but have had to clean it twice in five days; first on Sunday and secondly yesterday.

Sunday was because the house next door is being repointed and that meant a couple of days of angle grinding out the old mortar. Cue biblical amounts of dust. I tried hosing it off but that just looked awful so it was off to the local jetwash.

Then on Wednesday the next house along had its entire roof removed. The builders are a bit sketchy and so rather than use a proper rubbish chute, they just lobbed an entire roof's worth of slates down to ground outside followed by all the timbers. Sigh. Cue another dust storm. Pressure washed it in the drive last night.....

Anyway, I also took the opportunity to finally take the roof bars & bike racks off, remove the last remaining bit of holiday junk from the boot, sort out the glove box, front cubby and rear armrest storage and hoover the thing out properly.

It's now ready for this afternoon's journey; I'm taking my son up from London to see QPR play West Brom at the Hawthorns. The Travelodge is booked and the pre-match pub has been chosen - I can't wait.

Brand new tyres all round because the wife said so. She hates mixed tyres on a car LOL. Eagle F1. So far so good
